The biggest Bitcoin adoption story of the year just dropped. And if you think this is just another wallet announcement, you're missing what actually happened. Because the technology isn't a story. The number of people it can reach is. And that number changes everything. Telegram just put Bitcoin within reach of 1 billion people, 12% of the entire human population. And almost nobody understands what happens if even a fraction of them start buying. Think about that. For 17 years, Bitcoin had to convince the world to come to it. Find an exchange, create an account, pass KYC, download a wallet, learn self-custody, figure out addresses, understand the seed phrases. Most people never even made it that far. Now flip the entire equation. Telegram is rolling out non-custodial Bitcoin and crypto wallets inside an ecosystem with more than 1 billion users. Bitcoin doesn't need to convince those people to download another app. They're already there. And this is how Bitcoin eats the world. Not by asking billions of people to suddenly become monetary experts. By becoming so deeply embedded into the technology they already use, that owning and sending Bitcoin becomes as normal as sending a message. But here's where things get absolutely insane. Only an estimated 4.5% to 6% of humanity owns Bitcoin today. And Bitcoin still has the exact same problem it's always had. 21 million coins. 1 billion people with potential access. You do the math. There will never be enough Bitcoin to go around. Even if only 1% of Telegram's billion plus users eventually wanted to own meaningful Bitcoin, that's another 10 million people competing for the same fixed supply.
And 10%?
That's 100 million people. And Bitcoin doesn't magically produce more coins because Telegram made access easier. The network doesn't care. Roughly every 10 minutes, new blocks continue being added. Roughly every 4 years, the issuance of new Bitcoin gets cut in half with the next date estimated to be April of 2028 for the halving. And now there's only about 85,000 blocks remaining until that next halving, meaning supply keeps getting tighter, access keeps getting easier, and a potential buyer pool keeps getting bigger. That combination is absolutely explosive. And Telegram isn't happening in isolation. Russia's new Bitcoin and crypto trading rules officially start today.
Bitcoin ETFs just brought in another $217 million, reversing Friday's selling pressure. And Bitcoin just closed August at $78,571 after recovering, more than $20,000 from its July low, near $57,000. The percentage of Bitcoin supply sitting in profit has surged from roughly 50 to 72%.
The bottom increasingly looks like it's behind us. Bitcoin doesn't need every human being on earth to own an entire coin. That's physically impossible. It doesn't even need everyone to own 0.1 BTC. It simply needs adoption to continue spreading while the supply remains absolutely scarce. Because eventually billions of people won't think about owning a Bitcoin. They'll be thinking in sats. 100,000 sats, 1 million sats, 10 million sats, whatever amount they can acquire. And every new buyer enters the same global competition for an asset nobody can create more of. That's why $100,000 Bitcoin isn't the destination. Neither is $500,000 and neither is 1 million per coin. And when Bitcoin eventually trades for millions per coin, people will look back at an era when globally adoption was still around 5% and wonder how anyone thought Bitcoin was already too expensive. The Internet didn't conquer the world by forcing everyone to understand how it worked. People simply started using it. Bitcoin can follow the same path. The wallet disappears into the apps. The complexity disappears into the background. And suddenly hundreds of millions of people who never considered themselves Bitcoiners have access to the hardest money ever created. Yesterday Bitcoin needed people to find it. Now Bitcoin is starting to find them. And 1 billion people just got a lot closer. Now let's take a look at what Telegram actually did. Because 1 billion people sounds almost impossible. Until you see the platform behind that number and what they're rolling out could completely change how the average person gets their first Bitcoin. Check it out, this was the breaking news here today. Billionaire Telegram CEO just announced they're rolling out non-custodial Bitcoin and crypto wallets to all Telegram users. They have over 1 billion active users. That's over 12% of the world's population adopting Bitcoin. This is what mainstream adoption looks like. Also massive news just came in right before I went live here. President Trump's White House officially cleared the rule to allow Bitcoin in every American's 401k.
That's $12 trillion of potential capital incoming.
Send it. So this is a massive pool of capital, which will start flowing into Bitcoin. I mean, what better than Bitcoin as the ultimate store value? And if Americans now have the option to roll over their 401k into Bitcoin, how many do you think will actually do that? It could be a pretty substantial piece of the pie. Let me know your thoughts. Again, 12 trillion is significant because the current Bitcoin market cap is ballpark one and a half trillion. So that's more than six times bigger than the current Bitcoin market itself. Pretty wild.
