For years, Washington laughed at Bitcoin. This week, Bitcoin has Washington working overtime. Literally, let's get into it. They had a choice, go home for August recess or stay in Washington to vote on Bitcoin. They chose Bitcoin. Think about what that actually means. For years, politicians ignored Bitcoin, they mocked it, dismissed it, called it a scam. Today, the United States Senate is refusing to leave Washington because the Bitcoin vote has become too important to delay. That's not hype, that's reality. Senator Cynthia Lummis has confirmed the Senate will continue working throughout the weekend because they still need to vote on the Clarity Act. And at the same time, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce says she remains optimistic the bill will pass this week. Coinbase says the same thing, the clock is literally running out. And regardless of what happens over the next few days, one thing is already obvious, Bitcoin didn't change, Washington did. That's an important distinction. Bitcoin doesn't need politicians, it never has. For more than 17 years, Bitcoin has produced block after block without asking anyone in Washington for permission. It survived government hostility, liepstein files, exchange failures, mining bans, banking crisis, media attacks. And now, after all these years, the conversation has completely flipped. Instead of asking whether Bitcoin will survive, politicians are asking how America can remain competitive in the Bitcoin world. That's a remarkable shift, because this debate is no longer just about Bitcoin, it's about geopolitical power. For years, the conversation was, should America regulate Bitcoin? Now the real question is, what happens if America falls behind? And I do have breaking news we'll cover in greater detail later in the show. Russia's Putin just signed their Bitcoin Clarity Act into law. It's official, Putin beat Trump. That's right. Russia got the first movers advantage.
We're slipping. We got to get back in control here, yo. But anyways, because if the United States hesitates further, capital won't, innovation won't, talent won't, money flows to the countries that embrace the future first. That's the name of the game. Bitcoin isn't waiting. Washington is. Now Washington is racing to catch up. That's why this week matters. Not because Congress controls Bitcoin. Obviously, Congress does not. Bitcoin will produce another block in roughly 10 minutes whether the Clarity Act passes, fails or gets delayed. The protocol doesn't care. Consensus doesn't come from Congress. The supply doesn't change. 21 million remains, 21 million. But capital does care. Businesses care, banks care, public companies care. Clear rules reduce uncertainty. Reduced uncertainty attracts investment. Investment accelerates adoption and that's why this debate matters. Not because Bitcoin needs Washington. Wall Street has been waiting for Washington. Meanwhile, Washington races to catch up. Another story has dominated BitcoinX. As we know, the cold card incident, security, firmware, quantum fears, entropy awareness, more noise, more fear. But zoom out just for a moment. Every cycle has distractions. Every cycle has headlines designed to make people question their conviction. The long term winners have never been the people who reacted to every headline. They've been the people who understood the difference between temporary fear and permanent fundamentals. Bitcoin is still decentralized, still scarce, still permissionless, and still producing blocks. None of that has changed. The only thing that's changing is who finally realizes it. History will remember one of two things. Either Washington delayed again, or this was the week America stopped treating Bitcoin like a problem to regulate and started treating it like the hardest money they can no longer afford to ignore. Now let's break down why Washington is refusing to leave, starting with the latest Clarity Act developments. Breaking news, Senator Lummis just confirmed the Senate will not leave for recess on Friday and will continue to work throughout the weekend. Here's the update.

I don't think we'll be leaving on Friday. I think we'll go into the weekend. There are other bills in addition to the Clarity Act that we need to take votes on before we leave for the August recess. And Clarity is one of those bills. So, I do believe that we will get a vote on the Clarity Act and get people on the record after 11 months of negotiating with Democrats and adding 300 plus pages to the bill at their request. It's just time to get people on the record.

**Justin Verrengia** (4:26)
Good Lord! 300 new pages added to the Clarity Act. Let's get this mofo finito, shall we? But yeah, there's going to be a big week. Like I said, they're going to stick around this weekend to vote on it. Hopefully, it passes the Senate floor, get signed into law, especially considering Putin just signed their Bitcoin Clarity Act, which we'll touch upon here shortly. But I want to give you some more updates regarding the USA. Also in the headlines here, Senator Scott just demanded on Fox that the Senate stay and finish the Bitcoin Clarity Act. He says Lummis has worked her butt off on the bill. Here's the update.
