They have a real, like...

Joe Rogan (0:16)

Estonia?

Sam Tallent (0:17)

Yeah, so like the comics there. It's called Humor Clibi, I think. And every show done in Estonia is only produced by these comics, so no one gets a piece of it besides comedians.

Yeah, so they've like totally collectivized comedy in Estonia.

Joe Rogan (0:31)

Oh, so they've sort of developed their own scene, just the comics. So there was no comedy club that was available and they kind of created something?

Sam Tallent (0:38)

Well, Estonia has been a country since like 1994 Yeah, super real. So it's like all brand new and I think Free Speech was just legalized like last year or whatever, and they brought me over.

But the crowds, bro. I did a show in the college town there and I was like, I watched the first two comics, Ari, very funny, not getting big laughs. So I went out there and tried to like attack all this crowd. And at one point I was like, where do you work, man? And she went, no! That was the amount that they wanted to connect and like they don't laugh audibly.

But afterwards I'm out there selling merch and they're all like, that was a pleasure. It was the time of my life, thank you. It's like, okay, well, in America typically we smile at least if we're having the time of our life. It was like someone's gonna throw a rock at them if they made any noise.

Joe Rogan (1:23)

Wow, they're probably shell shocked.

Sam Tallent (1:25)

Oh, for sure.

Joe Rogan (1:27)

Oh, you gotta imagine. Ari's like, Ari Matty, who we're talking about, who is very, very funny, is such a joyful guy.

Sam Tallent (1:35)

Silly.

Joe Rogan (1:36)

Yeah.

SPEAKER_4 (1:37)

Like, how did he come out of there?

Sam Tallent (1:38)

Well, I think he's just happy to be out of there.

Joe Rogan (1:43)

He just turned him, he turned him into who he is now.

Sam Tallent (1:47)

It's like in The Great Escape when he sees sunlight and all he can do is smile.

Joe Rogan (1:50)

Yeah, yeah, it's interesting when you see someone who's really talented that comes out of a place that doesn't have any history of it.

Sam Tallent (1:57)

Yeah, well, they gotta create their own culture there. So they gotta figure out how to do standup.

And I think that Ari can do standup in like three different languages. Wow.

Joe Rogan (2:06)

So what is Estonian, what do they speak?

Sam Tallent (2:09)

I think Estonian.

Joe Rogan (2:10)

Oh, they have their own language?

Sam Tallent (2:11)

I think so.

Joe Rogan (2:12)

But they've only been a country since 94

Sam Tallent (2:14)

Right, well, so they were a country and then Russia came in and they weren't a country and then Russia left and then they were a country and then Russia came back, I think, and then they were a country after that. So they just have this history of having a boot on their neck for years and years.

So I think he can do Estonian and then I think he can do Russian and English. Yeah.

Joe Rogan (2:31)

That's crazy.

Sam Tallent (2:32)

And he can kill you with his bare hands. He looks great with his shirt off.

Joe Rogan (2:36)

Yeah, he was an MMA fighter.

Sam Tallent (2:38)

Yeah.

Joe Rogan (2:38)

He had three fights.

Sam Tallent (2:39)

And he's fighting Estonians. They're just scary people.

Joe Rogan (2:42)

That's how you go and 3

I'm like, you're too nice. You're too nice to be in that game.

Sam Tallent (2:48)

Yeah, quit doing act outs.

Joe Rogan (2:49)

Yeah, he was with the legit gym too.

Legit gym. It was a straight blast gym. That's Conor McGregor's gym.

Sam Tallent (2:55)

Well.

Joe Rogan (2:55)

He's an affiliate of that.

Sam Tallent (2:56)

Yeah, he's legit.

I'm happy for him. I signed his like visa letter.

Joe Rogan (3:01)

Oh yeah.

Sam Tallent (3:01)

Him and James McCann. I'm both on them. So if either of them fuck up, I'm gonna be in big trouble.

Joe Rogan (3:05)

I don't know McCann.

Sam Tallent (3:06)

James McCann is Shane's boy from Australia.

Joe Rogan (3:08)

Oh, I do. That's right. I'm sorry. No, I do know him. That's right. I just, there's so many fucking names now.

I've met more people in the last year and a half since the club's been open. And I have probably ever in my life, trying to keep an eye and pay attention to all these new faces and new comics.
