I forgot how good a weed you have.
Dan Soder (0:18)
This is Cal Williams weed.
Joe Rogan (0:19)
Is that really? Oh shit, I'm gonna start talking shit on everyone in the business.
SPEAKER_3 (0:23)
And that ain't never been a day that Shane Gillis ain't never texted me, you're gay, always calling me gay.
Dan Soder (0:31)
Oh, we had Cat Williams ride the racing simulator, and I filmed it and put some of it up on Instagram, but he's like, this is how he drives.
SPEAKER_3 (0:40)
This is a normal thing. He does this because he does this in real life.
Joe Rogan (0:44)
Yeah, I would love for Cat Williams to be the voice of my self-hate.
SPEAKER_3 (0:48)
He's like, you ain't never gonna be nothing, baby. You suck.
Joe Rogan (0:52)
It's like I know Cat.
Dan Soder (0:53)
Just to wake you up every day and get you to go to work.
Joe Rogan (0:57)
Yeah, he's the new David Goggins. He's like, pain is good.
SPEAKER_3 (1:01)
Feel everything bad, Pimpin. I'm out here golfing in $5,000 sneakers.
Joe Rogan (1:06)
Dude, the books thing is still the funniest shit in the world.
Dan Soder (1:09)
Bro, he doubled down and then some.
Joe Rogan (1:11)
Respect. Doubling down on a crazy shit is fucking hilarious.
Dan Soder (1:15)
He was saying, I went to the library, and I got 20 books at a time, because that's all they would let you get, and I would be there three times a week.
Oftentimes, I'd be reading eight books simultaneously, because I have the original book, and then I have books annotated. I love it.
Joe Rogan (1:32)
The idea that a librarian sees him coming and gets nervous.
They're like, no, no. Lock the doors here.
Dan Soder (1:39)
Only 20
Joe Rogan (1:40)
Only 20
Dan Soder (1:40)
Only 20 books at a time.
SPEAKER_3 (1:41)
I need to read 30 books today.
Joe Rogan (1:43)
What was he saying? A week? How many?
Dan Soder (1:46)
I don't give a fuck what he said. He's a gem. That guy's a gem. I love him.
I was so happy that I got him to come on the podcast, because he was like, Joe Rogan don't want me on this podcast. I do, though.
I fucking love that guy. I've always sung his praises.
Joe Rogan (2:00)
When you heard him say that, did you talk back to the interviewer? You were like, but I do want you on.
Dan Soder (2:05)
No, I immediately went on Twitter. I immediately went on Twitter, and I said, dude, I love that guy.
Let's go.
SPEAKER_3 (2:12)
I just never met him.
Dan Soder (2:14)
I never met him until yesterday.
Joe Rogan (2:15)
I've never met him.
Dan Soder (2:16)
So it's just like we passed each other in the night at the store. I just never was there when he was there. And he was already a big giant theater act by then. And now he's an arena act. I just never met him. That's all it was. It's hard to meet arena acts.
Unless it's Chappelle, who still goes to the clubs.
I asked him to do the club. You want to do a spot at the club? He goes, I'm an arena act.
Joe Rogan (2:42)
Just to clarify, with someone like that.
Dan Soder (2:44)
I do arenas too. The club is amazing.
SPEAKER_3 (2:48)
Can't. Not enough people.
Dan Soder (2:51)
I think he genuinely doesn't enjoy being in tight crowds like that. I think he's uncomfortable. And I told him, you got too famous.
And he was like, you got too famous.
Joe Rogan (3:02)
I mean, he's been doing arenas for over 10 years now, probably. And then theaters the whole time.
Dan Soder (3:08)
Well, Pimp Chronicles was when? When was Pimp Chronicles?
Joe Rogan (3:11)
I'm going to guess. I mean, I know Jamie's going to look it up. I'm going to guess 02, 3
Dan Soder (3:16)
Somewhere around then. I watched that in the gym yesterday before I came to do the podcast.
Joe Rogan (3:21)
It's one of the greatest stand up specials of all time.
Dan Soder (3:23)
It's fucking amazing.
Joe Rogan (3:25)
The amount of...
Dan Soder (3:26)
The energy he has.
Joe Rogan (3:27)
It's like up there with the energy of Chris Rock, Bring The Pain, where it's like yell laughter.
Dan Soder (3:34)
But it's his own flavor.
Joe Rogan (3:36)
He's the best, dude.
Dan Soder (3:36)
It's his own flavor of comedy. Like his flavor of comedy is uniquely Cat Williams. Like the way he can repeat things and they become funnier. Who can fucking repeat a line and it becomes funnier?
