That was a, it was gonna be, you know, the conversation was, man, this is another short women's final. They're gonna have to fill some air to drama.

Yeah, that was, someone said, oh, great, it's O and O, and then two and two. And, you know, usually we don't root. We root for good tennis. We root for sportsmanship and stories. I gotta say, there was something inside of me that says, it's your first time playing in a major. You have five match points. You let them go. I don't know if you saw her at the changeovers.
One point she put her fingers in her ears. It looked like my mom and my brother and I were fighting in the back seat. She said, it's interesting. Then she had her head in a towel. She left the court and she said, oh gosh, this is going to be crushing to this poor woman who was a point away from winning Wimbledon. The reset that she was able to perform, I thought was so impressive.
She's a Wimbledon champion is Linda Nosková.
I'll give you a few things about this match and then jump in. I don't know, Sean, do you have the time handy? It was like 2.20, I'll say, right? Something like that. She went almost 50 minutes without winning a game in the middle of that. So you're up 5-2 and you're suddenly like in almost an hour elapses before the numbers change on the scoreboard. But she showed off what we've been talking about all week, right? She's athletic, she can play at the net. I mean, she has a really sort of nifty game, I would say. You said this, she looks like she transitioned so smoothly when she comes in. She served pretty well and she had this lapse. I don't want to say, no, we're talking about yips. I mean, this was just flat out nerves. This was just flat out nerves.

It's fine. Listen, I've had them all the time. Everyone has them. It's just nerves. That's fine.

**Jon Wertheim** (2:24)
I really like Muqla. I was rooting, actively rooting for her because I just think it could be so devastating to a young career to come within a point. If you lose love and love, you can say it just wasn't my day reset.
This is much different when the finish line is right there and you double fault or you hit the tape.

The lead up to the point. It's not as if you had a break point on at 5'6, 30, 40 Yeah, exactly. Someone hits an ace.

5'2, double faulting, you've had a couple, you've had a serve. I mean, the way she was able to- whatever she did, whatever she told herself, I think ESPN said she went when she left the court and actually went and looked at the trophy for inspiration. That's your network's reporting, which is a nice bit of- it's a nice detail. But she was sitting there with her head in the towel, and I'm saying, oh, God, this is such a towel. Imagine you're the opponent and you're seeing the person you're playing covering their head at a 6'5 changeover. For her to come back on the court and give herself a 4-1 lead, I thought that was so impressive.
We have two checks in the final. We have one check winning. I think this was really a mental strength clinic today, along with some pretty entertaining grass course tennis.

Yeah, it was, I think what like my emotion was because I'm on a massive Mujova fan. I love watching her play. Like she can do stuff that I could never do on a court. Like back to front. And she's just very pleasing to watch, right?
I thought she gave a great speech at the end. I thought she was like kind of she opened with humor and then kind of got serious. I like that. The thing where I was watching in the end of the second, beginning of the third was, Oh God, this could be like a career type hangover. And you don't want to see a young player have to like battle those demons. And then you never know how it shakes out. Like you really don't. So listen, it went from kind of a great final for Nosková, but kind of a meh final for like a viewing audience to, oh, this is like, it became so human, so on the edge, so dramatic that it brought us in where, you know, now it's going to be one of those things in Wimbledon lore where it's like, gosh, you remember Nosková was up 6252, like championship points, blew it and then won. Like it's going to be part of the story now.
