Kind of a weird feeling. Our Arnaldi just pulls out. He was sick up all night. Said he woke up at one o'clock, vomited, tried to sleep, couldn't. Again, early this morning, tried to go to the courts, hoping for a miracle, didn't happen. So I think we have some more.

All right, so we'll do that in a little bit. Let's cover the match that did get played first, and then we'll go back into the sickness and not just Arnaldi's situation, but how does it affect Cobolli going in? So we'll get into all that. Zverev does what he has to do. I think one of my favorite things about the match, and we'll get into the match up and the specifics and what Menšík could have done and all that, when Zverev won, no relief.

One goal, fist pump, barely a smile, like a racket thing at the end, but business, I know what I'm here to do. There is exactly one acceptable result for me. We've been saying it, he acted like it. Like, E1, it wasn't like this, I can't believe it. He's like, no, I can't believe it, and I'm here to do work. I thought it was an extremely workman-like performance. I don't think Menšík played that well.
I don't think his strategy was great.
It seemed to me like he was looking to get out of any prolonged rallies, but even in the first set, he was hitting a drop shot early, he was serving and volleying a ton, which we don't see from him. To me, if I'm Zverev and someone comes out and in the first four or five games, they're playing in a way that's completely different than what they normally do, I'm going, oh, they don't have confidence in their game, their stock offering versus my stock offering, straight out of the gate. I mean, serving and volleying, hitting drop shots from weird spots, not something he normally does. I get those adjustments if you're down a set, a set and a half, like you have to change something to create some rhythm. Straight out of the gate, kind of, it almost felt like it was a desperate adjustment, but it wasn't an adjustment to anything, right? It was just the way that he was playing. So I was kind of underwhelmed with the way that he played after being completely overwhelmed with the way that he played against Fonseca.

Yeah, but okay. Even if it is, that's, you know, at a certain point when we're playing semis and majors, you know, listen, I understand that. But I also don't have much sympathy for it, you know. You know, many times I, you know, play against the best players on earth for two weeks and lose to the best player and people are going, what's wrong with you? Like that's the nature of the beast. Like that just, that's just what happens. Like you got second out of 128 best players in the world and people are going, why can't you? I mean, sure, but when you kind of lay a bit of an egg, but also that like we can't undersell Zverev's situation with this whole thing was that how is he going to return that big serve? He didn't really do it. He had a couple of really good looks at breakpoints early in that first set. And it feels like once Zverev survived that, then he kind of looked like Zverev a little bit more. But it was it was a little choppy early. He rolled over a couple of forehands like it wasn't. But also Menšík, he went after the forehand. And Andreev actually talked about this a little bit afterwards in the TNT coverage. He went after the forehand. But then at some point, you have to be able to settle in. Any time Zverev hit a backhand, he switched it. It was like there was no, he was showing Zverev like, I'm so scared of this rally or this matchup. So then all of a sudden, he's switching and hitting shots that he doesn't want to hit. And Zverev's forehand, again, people criticize it.
