I have always thought that sweet and salty is one of those combinations that just makes sense, like something that can be perfectly good on its own, but add just a little salt to something sweet, and suddenly it's 10 times better. So I was very excited when Kachava came out with their new flavor, salted caramel. Caramel is already good, but that little bit of salt just makes the whole thing work. And what I love about Kachava is that it's not just something that tastes good. Two scoops give you plant-based protein, fiber, greens, and so much more in one really simple shake. It's an easy way to help fill some of those nutritional gaps, especially on days when you're busy and just need something quick. And there aren't any artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. It's just clean nutrition that actually tastes delicious. Embrace your salty side. Go to kachava.com and use code 1000HOURS for 15% off your first order. That's kachava, spelled kachava.com.
Code 1000HOURS.
You know, there are so many little things we do as parents to help our kids sleep well. We get them outside, keep them moving, try to limit screens at night. But one thing I hadn't thought much about was how they're actually breathing while they sleep. A lot of parents don't realize their kids may be sleeping with their mouths open, and persistent mouth breathing can be associated with restless sleep, dry mouth, moodiness, oral health concerns, and even development. That is where Muzzle Kids Tape comes in.
It is a simple bedtime tool designed to greatly encourage lip closure and support nasal breathing. What I really like as a mom is their patented Breathe Safe Center opening. It doesn't completely seal the mouth, so there's still room to talk, cough, sneeze, or drink water if needed. They make Muzzle for adults too, so it can be a simple nighttime habit for the whole family. Go to muzzlesleep.com and use code 1000hours for 10% off. That's muzzlesleep.com, promo code 1000hours.

I am so excited. You're one of my favorite people to interview with, so this is just a delight.

You have made major changes in your life, and you have taken your creativity and your talents, and turn them into a thriving business with these beautiful books that you offer, and you do all this painting and writing, and they're tremendous, and you're coming out with new things. I just admire that. I think in a day and age where it's real easy to just follow the status quo, it's incredible to be able to rub shoulders with someone who takes that leap, and also who keeps their creativity alive through adulthood. So it is an honor to have you back and to talk about some of the new things that you have going on. The newest that I have with me, and I know there's a couple of new things going on, but the newest I have with me is a book called I've Loved You From the Start, which is an absolutely precious book with the most beautiful message. So we're going to be talking about that today and some other new things that people can look forward to that are coming that are on the horizon. But I would love if you would give us a little bit of the story of childhood.
I think it's really exceptional when the things that bring you to life as a kid, you can keep those alive or bring them back around in your adulthood, and use them to make a living and build a career and bless others. So if you tell us about Tabitha as a kid, I want to know about the artist in you, but also the storyteller.
Tabitha Paige (3:43)
Oh, my goodness. Wow. So as a child, as most young children do, I found my niche very early. I knew I was an artist, my dad was an artist, my sister was an artist. It was so ingrained in me.
It started to emerge at a very young age, and pretty quickly, my art teachers, my teachers, everybody was saying, wow, this is a talent. This is something that she needs to pursue. And so that became just such a huge part of my life from a very, very young age. I started professionally painting murals at the age of 15
I was selling artwork at the Houston Livestock Show in Rodeo. On my junior year, I sold a piece for about $130,000.
This was just something that I knew was part of my being. However, as many of us do, we get to graduate or we get to college, and we start to panic a little bit because I did the traditional public school path and that is a very traditional path that leads you to more traditional workplace options. And I started to panic and I thought, I know I have this talent, but I'm not confident that I can make a living out of this or pursue this long term. So I'm going to go and I'm going to get my speech therapy degree. And I kind of put that to the side thinking, well, I'll just pick it up. You know, it's kind of one of those things that you can do on the side. But it was really a decision made out of fear because I didn't think that there was a path. And I'm so grateful for the journey that I went on. So of course, I did the traditional college route. I got my master's degree. I was minoring in art, but mostly focused on speech therapy. And that all had its purpose. God had a very clear purpose in all of that.
