There are so many things we think about when we think about our kids' future. What will they become? Who will they marry? Where will they live? What will our family look like 10, 20, 30 years from now? And somewhere along the way, we realize that planning for their future also means planning for the possibility that life doesn't go exactly the way we hope. That's why we have life insurance. Not because we live afraid of what might happen. Actually, it's the opposite. It gives us peace of mind, knowing that if something happened to one of us, the other wouldn't suddenly be trying to figure out how to support five kids while also dealing with unimaginable loss. If you've been putting this off, Ethos makes getting life insurance remarkably simple. It's 100% online. You can get a quote in seconds, apply in minutes, and potentially get same-day coverage. There's no medical exam, just a few simple health questions. You can get up to $3 million in coverage, with some policies as low as $30 a month. You spend your whole life taking care of your family. This is one more way to take care of their future. Take 10 minutes to get covered today with life insurance through Ethos. Get a free quote at ethos.com/1000hours. That's ethos.com/1000hours.

My name is Ginny Yurich and the founder of 1000 Hours Outside. And today, International Fashion Model and Home Education, Parents' Rights Educational Freedom Fighter, Sam Sorbo is here. Welcome, Sam.
Sam Sorbo (2:19)
That's probably the best introduction I've ever had, so thank you for that. Okay.
Ginny Yurich (2:24)
I got to ask, how do you know that you should be an International Fashion Model? At what age are you like? That's what I mean.
No, no.
Sam Sorbo (2:33)
It's sort of a funny story. I was waitressing and I was on my third day of training and I was abysmal. And I had two tables say to me, why are you doing this? You should be modeling. And so that's how that started.
Also because I got fired.
Ginny Yurich (2:49)
Okay. You've got the coolest stories. You've written so many books. I've got three of your books here. The first one is from a bit ago. It's called True Faith that you wrote with your husband, Kevin, and then two books about homeschooling. So we're really talking a lot today about educational freedom and also sort of those post-homeschool years, which we're just starting, and you have got some significant insight in. But if you could kick us off with, you are part of this media culture in a really cool way. So your husband, I'm like, oh, I grew up not watching that much TV, like we were kind of limited.
So I'm like, oh, I never really totally know all the shows. But Hercules was an incredibly successful show that Kevin was in. And then Andromeda. But you met on Hercules, and then there was Andromeda. And then you start to switch to faith-based films. So there's What If that was recorded in Michigan, which I thought was cool, because we live in Michigan, and God's Not Dead. And then Let There Be Light, you did a family film together. This relates because in this journey of your marriage and being on set, you start to get this inkling toward home education. Because the teachers are sending this work along, and you're like, huh, is this really what they should be doing? Also, I am already in some ways homeschooling just through doing the homework and the assignments. So could you give us a little bit of the backstory there, like where your family was at, and how this idea of home education surfaced?
