All right, there's this amazing book called Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got. I read it a few years ago and it changed my life.
And the reason I loved it was because it basically talks about how to get and make more money using things that you already have. Coincidentally, today's podcast is brought to you by Business Made Simple. It's a podcast by Donald Miller, who I'm gonna tell you about in a second, but he has this amazing episode that's all related to this book and the things that I learned in this book. It's called How to Make Money With What You Already Have. It's an incredible episode. Talks about all the stuff that I learned in this book. The host is Donald Miller. I didn't know who Donald Miller was up until recently, but over the last 12 months, this is totally by coincidence. It was all separate people. They said, you have to check out Donald Miller. He's amazing. So I'm happy that he's part of HubSpot's Podcast Network. You can check it out, Business Made Simple Podcast. It's where he coaches you on how to build your business like an airplane, where the cockpit is your leadership, the body is your overhead, the right engine is your marketing, the left engine is your sales. You have to check it out. This guy's amazing. It's called Business Made Simple with Donald Miller.
I feel like there's a world where this like, let's be conservative. I feel like there's a, this is very clearly a $10 million a year thing that makes 2 million in profit.
Let's. Let's travel never looking back. Dude, there's like a picture in the background that is just getting my attention so much that crooked, there's like a crooked picture. You see it?
There's a whole subreddit called like, I forget what it's exactly called, but it's about like minor things that are just slightly off. Like what were they thinking?

**Shaan Puri** (1:41)
It's like mildly, like there's mildly interesting, there's probably mildly irritating or something like that.

**Sam Parr** (1:45)
No, it's called mildly infuriating.

**Justin Mares** (1:47)
Mildly infuriating, exactly.

**Sam Parr** (1:49)
Did you just guess that?

**Shaan Puri** (1:50)
Well, I know about mildly interesting, so.

**Sam Parr** (1:52)
Yeah. Anyway, what's going on? Justin, do you know what you're getting into?
Do you know what we do?

**Justin Mares** (1:59)
Yeah. No, I know a good bit.

**Sam Parr** (2:03)
We'll just do a really quick intro, but you've done a bunch of stuff. I've known you since 2013, I think.

**Justin Mares** (2:10)
Yeah. I think actually a little earlier when you were doing the roommate thing.

**Sam Parr** (2:13)
How did you guys meet? We both had roommate businesses. We just became friends. You moved to San Francisco. I ended up introducing him, or no, he met a girl he dated for a long time in the elevator on his way up to our meeting, who was my co-worker.
We just ran in the circle of friends for years.

**Shaan Puri** (2:36)
That's pretty good. Did you get the number in the elevator? What was the elevator? It's only a two-floor. You're on the second floor, right, Sam? So it's not too long to-

**Justin Mares** (2:45)
It was a fast close. How did that happen?

**Shaan Puri** (2:48)
Tell me about it.

**Justin Mares** (2:53)
Do you want me to share this, Sam?
Sweet. We met and this girl walked into an elevator and I was just making a joke. She was maybe a tiny bit drunk and tried to hit a button, but there are no buttons in the elevator. It's one of those fancy ones that you walk into and the attendant sends you somewhere. So I just started making fun of her for that, and in the several story ride with two other stops, I was like, hey, we should hang out. Then we hung out at Sam's apartmentless party and Shane numbers and have been friends since.

**Shaan Puri** (3:24)
Amazing.
Okay. And Sam, did you know that Justin was going to go on to do great things at the time? Did you spot that earlier? No. Was he just another dude?

**Sam Parr** (3:32)
Yeah. Well, we were both scheming. We were only 22, I think, when we met. That was a while ago. And he had this roommate thing and I had a roommate thing. And I think anyone who ever saw it, that's like there's like three things that you start right when you graduate college. And that's like one of them.
And so they never work out well. Like they're never that good.
So anyway, we did that.
