Welcome to the Body Mind Empowerment Livestream. I'm your host Siim Land again, and happy holidays. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas in Burmese. The end of the year is edging on the horizon, and we're starting to reach the finish line of 2017, which is a great opportunity for taking a step back, reflecting back on our experience so far, and looking at what we've done, what we have accomplished, and then recharging ourselves for the next year of crushing 2018 even better.
So what I wanted to talk about in today's live stream is how to prepare yourself for the coming holiday season, like in particular how to stay healthy, how to stay fit, how to still keep yourself on check with your routines and habits, how to de-stress yourself, how to reduce the mental overload, and at the same time, how to still have a great time with your friends and family.
Fuck it. To not become the party pooper. I'm the party pooper. First of all, you wanna make sure that you're going to have a great time.
You still have to prepare yourself for it mentally as well. This is the time of the year when most people, they take a step back from their work and what they focus more, and they focus more on compression. You know, it's like the natural cycles of life that we all go through. Expansion and contraction. These periods of action, taking action and reflection, reflecting back on the experience. You can see these things in nature as well, like summer, winter, fire, water, catabolism, anabolism. It's the yin and yang of life that the constant balance. I think this is the perfect time to slow down just a little bit. And if you're ever going to do this kind of relaxation downtime period, then this is the perfect time to do it.
You don't want to be the one who is constantly grinding and working through the entire holidays because first of all, you're not gonna make that much progress anyway, probably because there's so many distractions around you. Your family members are visiting.
Your business might also be going through some slower periods because of the rest of the world is celebrating. I just like to smile. Smiling is my favorite. Secondly, you would also be better off by taking advantage of this downtime to recharge yourself, to be prepared for the next... Winter is coming. For the next coming winter to not reach burnout before 2018 even has a chance to begin. It's cold outside. It's like in the movie, The Star Wars, a Jedi knows when it's time to rest and when it's time to act. For my ally is the force and the power for all it is. So this is the perfect time to identify these patterns of contraction and expansion. So this is the perfect time for having some downtime. Now, but at the same time, with that being said, when I say that you should take some time for relaxation, then I'm not saying that you should just become passive and completely inactive, to turn into this couch potato or a mollusk that just sleeps in, eats junk, plays video games, forgets about their good habits and just falls off the rails completely. And that was the Christmas I would never forget. Until I went home and had like 50 beers. That's not what I'm talking about. Instead, I want you to still put in the hustle, to stick to your routines, to stay consistent with your habits, to still stay disciplined with the small things. Because think about it, if you're capable of staying consistent and if you're capable of holding the line even during Christmas, even the time when you're supposed to relax, then you're guaranteed or you're ensuring that you're going to stay consistent at other times of the year as well. Because if you can do it when it's hard, then it's easier to do it when it's already supposed to be easy, when it's time to expand and take action. So what does it mean?
Should you still work? Should you still exercise? Should you still eat clean? Should you still practice other good habits of Body Mind Empowerment? Well, the answer is of course, yes, you definitely want to do that just so you could maintain these neural pathways within you. Because yeah, you can very easily forget them and you can lose all of your hard work if you fall into this some sort of a sandpit. You still want to put in some work, but at the same time, you don't want to overdo it either. So instead of having an entire full on cheat day, this day where you just hit the snooze, you sleep in until the noon, you binge on Netflix, you eat Cheetos, you instead of that, you still want to have what I call a maintenance day. A day where you're still checking in on your systems, you just show up, but you do it only the first parts of the day. You reach what I call the daily minimum effort. The daily minimum effort is this amount that you've decided that is enough for you to do, that is the minimum that you want to accomplish with each day that you have. And this applies to any other time of the year as well.
