How many ills you got?
Jocko Willink (0:16)
I got enough.
Joe Rogan (0:17)
You got how many more? You got one for me?
Jocko Willink (0:19)
I do, indeed.
Joe Rogan (0:19)
Give me one of them. Those are good.
Jocko Willink (0:21)
You want orange or sour apple?
Joe Rogan (0:25)
Orange.
Jocko go? What's in these things?
Jocko Willink (0:28)
A little bit of goodness.
It's got a little bit of caffeine in it. 95 milligrams, like a cup of coffee. It's got thermobromine, B6, B12.
Joe Rogan (0:37)
What's thermobromine?
Jocko Willink (0:38)
Stuff that helps you open up your capillaries and allow more blood flow to your system.
Joe Rogan (0:46)
Ooh, it's tasty. This is nice. Origin makes this too? I like it.
You're making all kinds of shit.
Jocko Willink (0:53)
We're making all kinds of shit.
Joe Rogan (0:54)
Your boots are excellent.
Jocko Willink (0:55)
Well, thank you.
Joe Rogan (0:55)
Bought two pairs of them.
Jocko Willink (0:56)
Nice.
I got a text from Pete and he sends me a text and it says, you know, it's got an address. It says Joseph Rogan. And he goes, is this Joe's address? And I go, yep. And you had ordered them at the beginning of COVID.
And so he text sends me this text and I go, when was this ordered? He's like, he's all embarrassed. He's like, I don't know, three months ago. I'm like, bro, stat, get a brother his damn boots.
Joe Rogan (1:23)
They're solid. They're very nice handcrafted boots. Like, you feel it when you pick them up. You're like, this is a real handmade boot.
Jocko Willink (1:32)
Because it is legitimately a handmade boot.
Joe Rogan (1:35)
Yeah, you gotta break them in.
You wear them for a few days and break them in. They're nice. They're nice.
Jocko Willink (1:41)
If you ever get a chance to go to Maine and see some of the machines that are used to make these boots, they're, you know that alien statue you just got?
Joe Rogan (1:49)
Yeah.
Jocko Willink (1:50)
They look like that. They legitimately look like that. There's millions of these little parts that hold the leather and pull it and put, and then a big machine comes in and rips and pull it.
Joe Rogan (1:58)
I was watching a documentary. I was watching something that was on Instagram where they were talking about all the different stuff that they make and, you know, debating whether or not you have to have a rivet on a jean or some other kind of thing.
Jocko Willink (2:10)
We're breaking it down, man, and bringing that stuff back because we almost lost it. We were like a generation away from losing that knowledge, but we're bringing it back.
Joe Rogan (2:19)
Yeah, American manufacturing has taken a gigantic hit over the last, what, 30 years plus.
Jocko Willink (2:25)
It's been awful.
Joe Rogan (2:26)
It's weird, man. It's weird when the pandemic hit and you find out that almost everything is made overseas, all of our medicine, all of our computer chips. Like Cam Haynes is trying to buy a Raptor and could not find one.
And I talked to John Hennessey, and John Hennessey was like, it's a chip thing. You can't get chips because all the chips are coming from overseas. I'm like, we don't make any chips.
Jocko Willink (2:50)
We're gonna have to do something about that. But we can't continue to just rely on, especially on China.
Rely on a communist country that's suppressing their people, and yet we're relying on them. And that's when the pandemic hit for us at Origin, we already had the all-American supply chain. So we were able to continue to do stuff and make stuff happen while a bunch of other companies were scrambling because they just didn't have that supply chain worked out.
Joe Rogan (3:18)
Do you see what's going on with China with that female tennis star?
Jocko Willink (3:20)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (3:22)
Jamie, see if we can pull that story up. It's this woman, apparently she said that she was sexually abused by some politician, correct?
Jocko Willink (3:33)
Yeah. And then did you see like the hostage note that she wrote?
Joe Rogan (3:36)
No, I did not.
Jocko Willink (3:37)
Oh, so she wrote a note that says, hello, world, I am fine, everything is okay.
If you want to print anything else about me, please run it through me, everything is okay, I am fine. I mean, I'm paraphrasing, but super weird, super weird, the kind of thing that you write when someone's holding a gun to your head.
