The Joe Rogan Experience.

Tom Papa (0:16)

It was like the big thing for David Frost. He got Nixon to actually break about Watergate. And the way Nixon tried to throw him before the interview, they're just getting ready and all the cameras and stuff. He's, did you fornicate last night? David Frost was like, why is the president, the former president of the United States? He's like, no.

He tried to rattle him before the interview. Nixon was so skillful and did you fornicate last night?

What?

Joe Rogan (0:48)

Is that skillful, though?

Tom Papa (0:49)

It kind of fucked him up a little bit.

Joe Rogan (0:51)

It seems like a Hail Mary.

Tom Papa (0:53)

Yeah, well, it didn't, yeah, he was at the end of his game.

Joe Rogan (0:56)

Did you ever hear the time when Nixon was riding? They got a ride, Hunter S. Thompson took a ride with Nixon, I believe to the airport, in his limo. As long as you don't talk politics.

So they just talked about football the whole way.

Tom Papa (1:11)

Was he president at the time?

Joe Rogan (1:12)

Yeah, he was president.

Tom Papa (1:14)

Oh my god.

Joe Rogan (1:15)

I know, that's how weird the world was back then. A fucking whackadoo like Hunter Thompson could get in a limousine with the president of the United States.

Well, I think Nixon respected his football knowledge, because Hunter was a football fanatic.

Tom Papa (1:30)

Yeah.

Joe Rogan (1:30)

And so he said Nixon was the real deal. He said Nixon knew about all these like draft picks from colleges and he was like following everything.

Tom Papa (1:39)

He was really smart.

Joe Rogan (1:40)

Was he?

Tom Papa (1:41)

Yeah, he was really smart and crafty, but he had a lot of fatal flaws.

SPEAKER_1 (1:47)

Did you phonicate last night?

Joe Rogan (1:50)

He was the oddest dude.

Tom Papa (1:52)

Such a weird-looking dude. Like no one who's looked like that since, you know?

Joe Rogan (1:56)

Mike Dukakis had a little bit of that and I'm like a handsomer version of Nixon. Just like thick. Yeah.

Tom Papa (2:03)

Everything's thick.

Joe Rogan (2:05)

The skin's thick, the eyebrows are thick.

Tom Papa (2:08)

Yeah, it's like leathery and always had like a lot of Vaseline or something in the hair.

Joe Rogan (2:13)

I'm not a crook.

Tom Papa (2:15)

I'm not a crook.

Joe Rogan (2:17)

And he's just awkward with his movement.

SPEAKER_1 (2:19)

Yeah, yeah, so weird.

Joe Rogan (2:20)

Joints don't work right.

Tom Papa (2:23)

A political cartoonist dream.

Joe Rogan (2:25)

Oh, yeah, for sure.

Tom Papa (2:26)

The big nose, the big jutting forehead.

Joe Rogan (2:29)

See, there's a problem with political cartoonists today is that they're all liberal, right?

And most cartoonists are liberal and you're going to leave Biden alone, which is very unfortunate. Because you really, it should be indicative of the dilemma that we find ourselves in in 2021

Tom Papa (2:48)

Right. Whosoever the guy is the butt of the joke or is the focus.

Joe Rogan (2:53)

But this is a very unique dilemma because we were willing to overlook like some serious problems with this guy because we hated Trump so much.

Tom Papa (3:01)

Right, exactly. Oh, I know. My nephew, my nephews are really, really left. They went to like Hampshire College and they're just like, you couldn't get further over there.

And love them all. But they were just super loved and in our family group text, every once in a while, they'll send a thing about about Biden going too far with Israel or like having a bad record at the at the border. And no one wants to deal. No one wants to discuss it in the family at all because they're so exhausted from Trump all those years. They're like, we know he's not perfect, but at least he's not that. And I feel like that's where the nation is. It's like, I know, I know.

But he's not tormenting us.

Joe Rogan (3:45)

Some of the nation is there, but the rest of the nation is like, it's eroding faith in the institution of the news because they're like, how come you fucking guys aren't paying attention to this? How is he allowed to say all this crazy shit? He's been saying ridiculous shit. Have you paid attention to the gaffs, the things he said about, what was the one recently about black people and businesses? Because black people can't get loans and black people, it's like, whoa, it was like such a blanket statement.

Like he says things sometimes like, like, come on, man.
