The Joe Rogan Experience.
Tim Kennedy (0:14)
Well, I ould, of course, come bearing gifts to two new Texans, so that's a separate thing.
But I did, I was at the range, working, and I was wearing a Hawaiian shirt. It wasn't even a Hawaiian shirt, I had bought it in Czech Republic.
And, but it looked like Hawaiian shirt. And in the comment section, I was in body armor, I had my gun, I was literally working. Everybody was like, oh, my gosh, you're wearing a Hawaiian shirt. You're part of this super extremist, like white supremist group. And I was like, what? I'm wearing a Hawaiian shirt. And they start like freaking out, like cancer culture. And I was like, I bought that, it doesn't matter where I bought it. But now, because you're telling me I'm not supposed to wear it, because I guess Hawaiian shirts are for a uniform for white supremacists.
Joe Rogan (0:57)
Oh, God, please Google this. This is a new thing.
Tim Kennedy (1:00)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (1:00)
What?
Tim Kennedy (1:00)
Yep.
Joe Rogan (1:01)
Hawaiian shirts are white supremacists?
Tim Kennedy (1:03)
So of course, the first thing I did was like, buy every Hawaiian shirt I can possibly find just because I'm not supposed to.
Joe Rogan (1:09)
You know, who the fuck is saying this? I need to see this.
That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. How can a Hawaiian shirt be white supremacist?
Tim Kennedy (1:18)
I don't think there's any logic ever attached to any of these things. But like the boot, I think like the Boogaloo bros, so that's what the Wall Street Journal says.
Jamie (1:26)
Why the extremist Boogaloo boys wear Hawaiian shirts?
Joe Rogan (1:30)
Please put that up on the screen. I need to see this fucking nonsense. Oh my God. This is real.
Why the extremist Boogaloo boys?
Tim Kennedy (1:38)
I'm not joking.
Joe Rogan (1:38)
Oh my God.
Aloha shirts have become a disconcerting signature for members of a gun toting anti-government. What does it say? You made a little too big.
Tim Kennedy (1:47)
I work for the government. So does that cancel this?
Joe Rogan (1:51)
Oh my God. In the past couple of weeks, following the killing of George Floyd, curiously dressed counter protesters have attended scattered demonstrations across the US armed and disconcertingly garbed in Magnum PI style floral Hawaiian shirts. Magnum PI is pretty fucking American.
Tim Kennedy (2:08)
Yeah, it's pretty epic. Three things here. They're really comfortable.
Floral is a great pattern, and they're very breathable. And on the range, I like to do the top button thing and pop a collar so you don't get hot brass down your neck, because we're shooting a ton. So it's like, don't get burned, don't want to be a redneck, you know? Like I hate white supremacists, but...
Joe Rogan (2:27)
What's wrong with Hawaiian shirts? We can't let them take away Hawaiian shirts.
Tim Kennedy (2:30)
That's the exact point that I'm trying to... I was like, you tell me the things that I'm not supposed to do, and I'm going to do those things because I'm not going to let you take those things from me.
Joe Rogan (2:39)
There they are. Our far right Boogaloo movement is using Hawaiian shirts to hide its intentions.
Tim Kennedy (2:44)
The dude right there on the far right? I have that shirt.
Joe Rogan (2:48)
Oh, they're wearing the shirts to hide their intentions. What?
Tim Kennedy (2:52)
No, they wear them because they're comfortable and they're breathable and this one's stretchy.
Joe Rogan (2:57)
They're taking away everything fun. You can't even do OK anymore. Remember? OK is now a white...
Tim Kennedy (3:01)
I still do that.
Joe Rogan (3:02)
I do too.
It's been around way too long. You can't steal OK.
Tim Kennedy (3:05)
Scuba diving, skydiving, military. I don't know what the other symbol is for not OK.
Joe Rogan (3:11)
There's some things that it's like gay people took over the rainbow. OK, you can have the rainbow.
Tim Kennedy (3:16)
My son really likes the rainbow.
Joe Rogan (3:17)
I like rainbows too.
Tim Kennedy (3:18)
He's five.
Joe Rogan (3:19)
I'll still wear a rainbow. I don't give a fuck.
Tim Kennedy (3:21)
For sure.
Joe Rogan (3:21)
But I do recognize that it's... I mean, at least they have partial ownership of it.
Tim Kennedy (3:27)
Yeah. But the OK sign...
You can use the emojis to text people. And I cannot help but use the OK sign for any...
Joe Rogan (3:37)
Still on the emojis?
Tim Kennedy (3:37)
Yeah, it is. For any positive response.
