And we're live.
Kurt Metzger (0:02)
Hey.
Joe Rogan (0:03)
Look at you, smoking a blunt.
Kurt Metzger (0:04)
I know, I've.
Joe Rogan (0:05)
This is your celebratory blunt.
Kurt Metzger (0:07)
Holy shit, dude, I'm still a little bit, that felt like getting an AIDS test.
Joe Rogan (0:13)
But you're clean.
Kurt Metzger (0:14)
I know.
Joe Rogan (0:16)
But you knew you were healthy, you feel good.
Kurt Metzger (0:18)
Yeah, I haven't felt like I had something.
Joe Rogan (0:20)
So you were worried you were one of them asymptomatic people.
Kurt Metzger (0:22)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (0:23)
They said as many as 60 to 70% could be asymptomatic.
Kurt Metzger (0:27)
Right, so I was like, I don't wanna, I don't have it, but then I gotta drive all the way back.
Joe Rogan (0:30)
That's why it's such a creepy disease. Like there was an Anderson Cooper thing we were talking about earlier, where the mayor of Las Vegas was on with Anderson Cooper.
Kurt Metzger (0:37)
Oh yeah.
Joe Rogan (0:38)
And he was describing to her how one asymptomatic person can go to a restaurant, and it showed this chart of all the people that got infected by this one. So he's trying to say it to her.
Kurt Metzger (0:51)
How do they get infected, just the air?
Joe Rogan (0:52)
Just the air, yeah. So he's trying to tell, this is completely theoretical. First of all, I don't know, the people that are saying this from China, I mean, maybe they touched the same things. Maybe there was a bunch of different factors, I don't know. I'm guessing it was just because of the air.
But I don't trust the goddamn thing they're saying that's coming from China. If anything, if they're saying something, it's been approved by the government.
Kurt Metzger (1:18)
Right.
Joe Rogan (1:19)
You know what I mean? It's not like these doctors-
Kurt Metzger (1:20)
What's that paper, the Epic Times? There's like a paper that-
Joe Rogan (1:23)
Epoch?
Kurt Metzger (1:23)
Yeah, Epoch Times.
Joe Rogan (1:25)
What is that?
Kurt Metzger (1:26)
It's like, they'll be critical of China, but I think the guy that owns it is a Falun Gong guy. So I've seen criticism-
Joe Rogan (1:33)
What is the difference?
Kurt Metzger (1:34)
Well, Falun Gong's that persecuted Tai Chi religion in China.
Joe Rogan (1:39)
Oh, really?
Kurt Metzger (1:39)
China's fucking crazy, dude.
Joe Rogan (1:41)
Epoch Times is a multi-language newspaper that was founded in 2000 by John Tang and a group of Chinese Americans associated with the Falun Gang spiritual movement. So who is he again?
Kurt Metzger (1:52)
I don't know who John Tang is, but-
Joe Rogan (1:54)
No, no, Falun Gang?
Kurt Metzger (1:55)
Falun Gang is like, it's like Tai Chi, but I guess China considers it a cult.
Joe Rogan (2:01)
What?
Kurt Metzger (2:01)
So they crack down on them like they're Uyghurs. And-
Joe Rogan (2:04)
Oh, no.
Kurt Metzger (2:05)
Yeah, and it's just like meditation shit.
Joe Rogan (2:09)
Ke Gong exercises with a moral philosophy centered on tenets of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. Holy fuck, I might have to join.
I've been looking for a good cult.
Kurt Metzger (2:19)
The Epoch Times, guys, get on.
Joe Rogan (2:20)
I've been saying this for years. I want a good cult, like come up with a good one.
Kurt Metzger (2:24)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (2:24)
That doesn't try to fuck me, doesn't take all my money, and it's not like one guy gets to bang everybody's wife.
Kurt Metzger (2:32)
Okay, stop banging your wife. I'm gonna bang your wife.
Joe Rogan (2:34)
They always play out like that.
Kurt Metzger (2:36)
That's, they do that gorilla, that fucking classic chimpanzee dominance thing where you lose face and balls. Well, I would have said Joe of his witnesses was a good cult if I stack, because I'm not really bitter at Joe of his witnesses.
Joe Rogan (2:49)
Well, let's tell everybody who doesn't know, because people might not be aware of your background. You grew up as a Joe of his witness. You're one of my friends that has the most rock-solid rules on not tolerating horse shit.
Because when people start bullshitting and saying nonsense, you're always the guy that's like, I know where this goes.
Kurt Metzger (3:09)
Yeah, well, for something like that, I am hyper, I am very hyper sensitive to culty. I just don't wanna go along with a thing because you have to go along with it and like, come on, we're doing this.
Joe Rogan (3:21)
That attitude is important.
Kurt Metzger (3:23)
Well, I just, that's the reason I left Joe's Witnesses, of course, was I didn't wanna have that. Then when I got out in the world, you can't escape it. Like the people, all these people that claim to be secular, that jump down your throat like online or something. It's all the same shit, but they just got rid of the Jesus.
