Oh, I'll deviate a little bit. I'll deviate.
Tom Papa (0:36)
You might want to take a look at it later.
Joe Rogan (0:38)
I deviated over this weekend. Yeah, I went to Disneyland, and I had ice cream, and then Friday night, or Saturday night. Saturday night, I had pasta, I had all kinds, I had Girl Scout cookies, I had a bunch of Girl Scout cookies, and dude, I'm telling you, Sunday, my back was hurting.
My Monday, my back was hurting, everything was like, my knee was hurting, all this like inflammation. It's crazy.
Tom Papa (1:03)
Icky, puffy.
Joe Rogan (1:04)
Yeah, one day back, two days, cause today's Tuesday, so I ate carnivore Monday and Tuesday, everything's normal yet. No more aches and pains.
Tom Papa (1:13)
So you were full on meat for a whole month. A whole month. But how many meals a day?
Joe Rogan (1:19)
Two, usually.
Tom Papa (1:20)
Two.
Joe Rogan (1:21)
Yeah, usually a small meal around noon after a workout, and then dinner.
Tom Papa (1:27)
All right.
And no eggs? No?
Joe Rogan (1:31)
Yeah, I would eat eggs. Eggs and fish.
Eggs, fish, meat.
Tom Papa (1:34)
Meat.
Joe Rogan (1:34)
Just no carbohydrates.
Tom Papa (1:35)
No vegetables at all.
Joe Rogan (1:36)
No fruits.
Tom Papa (1:37)
No bread, of course.
Joe Rogan (1:38)
I had an olive, no, two olives, and two pieces of chili mango the entire month.
Tom Papa (1:44)
Two glorious olives.
Joe Rogan (1:46)
But the pieces of chili mango, I legitimately felt guilty. I love chili mango.
Tom Papa (1:50)
I've never had chili mango.
Joe Rogan (1:51)
Oh my God, really? It's one of the greatest creations.
Tom Papa (1:54)
What is it? Like a chili pepper mango?
Joe Rogan (1:56)
Dried mangoes, but with chili powder all over them. It's Mexican, big hit in the Mexican community.
Tom Papa (2:04)
Dried?
Joe Rogan (2:04)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's so good, dude. It's so good, because it's got the sweetness from the dried mangoes, but then it's got the spiciness from the chili powder.
Tom Papa (2:12)
Ooh, that's right up my alley.
Joe Rogan (2:14)
It's so good. I ate two pieces, I was only gonna eat one. I was like, fuck it, let me have another one.
And I ate that second one, I'm like, oh no, what have I done?
Tom Papa (2:23)
Why did you decide to do it in the first place?
Joe Rogan (2:25)
The diet?
Tom Papa (2:26)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (2:26)
Well, because January is World Carnivore Month, and I know quite a few people that have done it that have had some serious results.
And serious results with autoimmune issues too. I have vitiligo, which is an autoimmune disease. It causes you to have these patches where you don't have pigment.
Tom Papa (2:44)
Oh really?
Joe Rogan (2:44)
And this month I had the best results that I've ever had with vitiligo. Like spots filling in.
Tom Papa (2:49)
It's transient, it comes and goes?
Joe Rogan (2:52)
It comes and goes, depending upon how well I'm taking care of myself, treatments and stuff like that. But this month, I've had all these spots fill in at like a pretty rapid rate.
Tom Papa (3:03)
Really?
Joe Rogan (3:03)
People with eczema have had spectacular results with it.
Tom Papa (3:08)
Now what, if you were to suggest to someone who wouldn't eat just meat, what percentage meat, after going through this, do you think you would?
Joe Rogan (3:18)
I think the problem is not plants as much as the problem really is refined sugar, carbohydrates, and bullshit. That's what I think. I think that's the problem.
Tom Papa (3:30)
Does cheese count in that?
Joe Rogan (3:31)
You can eat cheese.
Tom Papa (3:32)
You can eat cheese? You can eat cheese.
Joe Rogan (3:33)
You can eat cheese. It's an animal product, yeah.
Tom Papa (3:36)
Oh.
Joe Rogan (3:36)
I think for most people, the real problem is junk. You know, candy, sugar, pasta.
Tom Papa (3:45)
Bread.
Joe Rogan (3:45)
Glorious, glorious bread.
Tom Papa (3:47)
Even that bread?
Joe Rogan (3:49)
That bread's probably better, because it has less gluten, because you make sourdough bread. It's healthier.
Tom Papa (3:54)
Just flour, water, salt, and yeast.
Joe Rogan (3:56)
It's healthier for you, but I think, I think bread in general, just the idea of bread is, it's a human created product, right?
Tom Papa (4:05)
True.
Joe Rogan (4:06)
You got all that concentrated carbohydrates in a very weird form.
It's like glue. I mean, look what it is when you're making the dough.
