1415 THE DEPOPULATION OCTOPUS: Who Decides How Many of Us Are Allowed to Exist?

Richard Syrett's Strange Planet

September 23, 2026

What if overpopulation isn’t the crisis, but the cover story? Richard Syrett sits down with Charlie Robinson to trace the hidden history of eugenics and population control, and its reach into medicine, food, finance, climate policy, digital currency and AI. Eight tentacles.

There is so much NFL on ESPN right now.

Monday Night Football, plus pregame and postgame. NFL Live, NFL Primetime. Everything you need to stay on top of every game, every week.

Charlie Robinson (0:14)

Unbelievable.

SPEAKER_1 (0:16)

And now, NFL Network is on the ESPN app. More football, more coverage, more ways to watch. Football's on, all season long on ESPN and streaming on the ESPN app.

In 1986, a man named Scott Macklem was killed in broad daylight.

Police quickly found their suspect. Prosecutors convicted him. But now, almost 40 years later, I'm reexamining this case.

Charlie Robinson (0:45)

I really didn't believe any of it was real.

SPEAKER_4 (0:47)

And I was like, well, they're going to figure out this is not me.

SPEAKER_3 (0:49)

They're going to do their police job. Has the wrong man been in prison this whole time?

The plans include the Kalergi Plan, the Louis Nazir Plan, the Theodore Kaufman Plan, the Morgenthau Plan, and Clower and Piven. And these are plans that were designed showing how to reimagine Europe and destabilize Europe through infiltrating the homogenization of the cultures with people that aren't from there, the importation of people from North Africa and South Asia into Western Europe, intentionally so that they will not assimilate, so that they will create destabilization inside these countries, so that the countries will be easier to conquer in the future.

Richard Syrett's Strange Planet, following the truth wherever it leads, exposing evil and corruption and the secret machinations of powerful elites, revealing the high strangeness beneath the surface of our supposed reality, coming to you from the Great White North and his studio beneath the stairs. Here's Richard.

Richard Syrett (2:09)

Hey there and welcome to Strange Planet. For decades we've been warned that there are simply too many of us, too many people consuming too much food, using too much energy and producing too much carbon. We're told that unless humanity changes course, the planet itself may not survive. But what if saving the planet is only the sales pitch? What if behind the language of sustainability, reproductive health and global cooperation, there's something much darker? A century-old campaign to decide who should be born, who should reproduce, and ultimately, how many human beings should be allowed to exist. It began with the eugenics movement, wealthy families, celebrated scientists and powerful foundations determined to improve humanity by breeding out those they considered weak, defective or undesirable. After Nazi Germany exposed where that thinking could lead, the word eugenics became radioactive. But did the movement disappear or did it simply change its name?

My guest says the old eugenics network survived and expanded, spreading its tentacles into global health, environmentalism, international banking, food production, education, technology and artificial intelligence. He argues that war, engineered scarcity, collapsing fertility, medical dependency, digital currency and the destruction of the traditional family are not separate crises. They're interconnected. Parts of a system designed to produce a smaller, weaker and far more controllable population. And with artificial intelligence and robotics threatening to make millions, perhaps billions of workers, economically unnecessary, an unsettling question emerges. What happens when those who rule the world decide they no longer need most of the people living in it?

Charlie Robinson is the best-selling author of The Octopus of Global Control, The Controlled Demolition of the American Empire and Hypocrazy He hosts the Macro-Aggressions Podcast, co-hosts the Union of the Unwanted and Day Zero and is a founding member of the Independent Media Alliance. Again, his explosive new book is The Octopus of Population Control. Tonight we're following its eight tentacles and asking whether humanity is confronting a series of unrelated catastrophes or one enormous carefully concealed plan.

Charlie, welcome back. How are you?

Charlie Robinson (4:37)

I'm fantastic. It's a tough book to write. It's a bit dark, but I wanted to make sure. The first time you and I spoke was in 2018 after my first book, The Octopus of Global Control came out. We're talking about global government, global governance, and a thread that runs through that is that this global governing business would be so much easier. It wasn't for all these people. We could just find a way to get rid of them. We could do everything that we wanted to without the hassle and the pushback.

It's always been in the back of my mind that I needed to write the follow up to my original octopus book and get into the depopulation agenda. Because it's always right underneath the surface.

And for those that understand it, this is a centuries long plan. And what I identified in the book is that there are actually two different groups who are driving this depopulation agenda. And sometimes they work together, but often they're separated ideologically. They still want the same thing of fewer people, but they have different reasons for wanting to do that. And they have different tactics for accomplishing their goals. So I set out to write this in the same format as the original octopus book, which is 400 quotes from people who had a front row seat to the depopulation agenda, pulling declassified documents, talking about their eugenics operations like Kissinger's 1974 memo, and digging into some of what they talk about in their own books or behind the scenes when they think that nobody is listening about their views of how they see the world. And so I try to take my voice out of the book as much as I can. Obviously it's in there, but I want the words of the people that were involved in this to do the heavy lifting. I want to use what I've been calling verbal judo, the weight and momentum of their words against them. When you hear David Rockefeller confess to being a industrialist and saying that he wants world government, and in his autobiography, you have to acknowledge that sometimes these people talk about things in the open and put it out there, and it's only hidden to the extent that we choose to not go out and seek it and find it. So that's what I did. I went out and found their work. I found them talking about it in their own words about what they plan to do, how they intend to do it, and put this carefully together to paint a picture of a global depopulation agenda that started hundreds of years ago and exists to this day.
