1414 BIOLOGICALLY WIRED FOR THE PARANORMAL: Is Her Brain Picking Up a Reality the Rest of Us Can’t See?
Richard Syrett's Strange Planet

Tillie Treadwell has seen ghosts, UFOs, strange beings and the nearly invisible Glimmer Man since childhood. But what if the real mystery is Tillie herself?

They were testing us kids for certain types of abilities and personality traits. The end goal is unclear to all of us. So I was in the GATE program from about first grade to third grade, and they were definitely testing me for psychic abilities and for certain types of thinking abilities. You might want to look into the pink drink as well, because there's a lot of strange amnesia around that pink drink, and they'd make me drink it after every single session. So my memories are fractured from those sessions like many other people's are.

Richard Syrett's Strange Planet, following the truth wherever it leads, exposing evil and corruption and the secret machinations of powerful elites, revealing the high strangeness beneath the surface of our supposed reality. Coming to you from the Great White North and his studio beneath the stairs.
Here's Richard.

There's something very unusual about Tillie Treadwell, and I don't just mean the things she says she's seen.
Tillie's been having strange experiences for as long as she can remember, going all the way back to childhood. Ghosts, missing time, things that don't seem entirely human. Even encounters with what's been called the Glimmer Man, a humanoid figure that's almost impossible to see because it seems to distort the space or the light around it. Now you hear stories like that all the time in the paranormal world, but here's where Tillie's story takes a very interesting turn. People actually started studying Tillie. Her brain, her hearing, her eyes, her physiology. And reportedly, they found something unusual. Strange patterns in her brainwave activity, heightened hearing and uncommon eye structure and other biological differences, which raises a fascinating question. Maybe the story isn't simply that Tillie sees strange things. Maybe Tillie sees things differently. Maybe her brain is processing information the rest of us miss or routinely filter out. And then there's her husband, Artemaeus. Because when you live with somebody who says these things are happening around her, eventually you have to decide whether you believe her.
Except Artemaeus says he didn't have to. He started experiencing it too.
So tonight I want to find out what exactly has been happening around this couple and whether Tillie Treadwell might actually be biologically wired for the paranormal. Tillie Treadwell and Artemaeus, welcome to Strange Planet.
Artemaeus (2:47)
Thank you so much for having us. It's a pleasure.
Tillie Treadwell (2:50)
Indeed.
Richard Syrett (2:52)
Tillie, when you say you may be biologically wired for paranormal experiences, what exactly do you mean?
Tillie Treadwell (3:00)
Well, I'm referring to the studies that scientists have done on my neurochemistry and my blood, my eyes, my ears, essentially just about everything about how I have incarnated here for better or for worse.
For those Beetlejuice fans, remember the Lydia line, I myself am strange and unusual. That seems to be me and now I've got the scientific proof to back it up, which I think is really fascinating, especially because there does seem to be a handful of people out there like me, who they do meet up with us sometimes in the lab, the scientists and I, and we really get some fascinating work done. And the biggest part of that seems to be regarding my eye structure and my brain waves.
Richard Syrett (4:01)
I want to come back around to the experiments that were performed, but first I want to talk about the encounters, which began before you were even old enough to understand what ghosts and UFOs or the paranormal were. What happened in childhood that first made you realize something very strange is happening to me?
Tillie Treadwell (4:22)
That would have been when my family members, my parents especially, were telling me not to talk about it because it was far from normal and it would scare people and that other people don't have these kinds of experiences.
I would say one of the biggest influences there was when I met a small creature being in the backyard. I was somewhere between three and four years old and he asked to come inside and just watch the family. And I said, yes, of course, as long as you don't cause any trouble. And he readily agreed. And he stayed in our closet for years and he followed me for years. But even there, there seems to be a biological limitation because of where we lived up north. And now my husband and I are in Florida, so he hasn't haven't had a lot of contact with him. But back at that time, this was a little being who had a tongue like a butterfly. He had long pointed wolf-like ears and he was built like a small wolf about the size of a small cat. And at times he had horns and goats or cat's eyes and butterfly wings. Just quite strange with backwards-facing elbows, just very unique little guy. And he chirped like a bird.
