So most Christians have heard of Pergamum, but few have, but few know, rather, why Revelation calls it the place where Satan has his throne. What exactly was the Altar of Pergamon?

**Jonathan Cahn** (3:54)
Yeah, it's an amazing thing, because the Bible is actually saying, it's committing, there is a place called, where Satan dwells, called his throne, and it links it to Pergamum. Pergamum was a pagan place. It had a high place. I just came back from it, actually, where they worshiped the gods. But there was one particular object that stood out, a massive, called the Great Altar of Pergamon, which is dedicated to the king of the gods. You know, now, for those who know The Return of the Gods, one of the books I wrote, the Bible says behind the gods are actually spirits. It says that Satan is the lord of spirit. You know, and if the gods are, really behind the gods are spirits, well, Seuss is kind of like a mask of that. And so the Altar of Pergamon actually became the embodiment of Pergamon and to the world. And so it really represents us. So here you have an object, ancient object, and you have a, you have an identification with the throne of Satan. And the amazing thing is that it didn't just stay there. It didn't just stay, you know, 2000 years ago buried. This is kind of like, Richard, it's like a kind of like Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, except it's real.
