Yo, yo, yo, what's going on? My name is Siim and welcome to another one of my...
Welcome to another one of the Body Mind Empowerment style. Yeah, that's how we roll.
And today I wanted to talk about goals and accountability.
You know, because it's the end of the year, the last month of the year, December is knocking on the door. And yeah, what it means, it means that you probably are starting to think about whether or not you're going to achieve the goals you set for yourself at January this year earlier. And you know, oh, it's that moment, the moment of truth where you're forced to look at your progress and to be honest with yourself, whether or not you've been slacking off or whether or not you've actually made the right decisions towards achieving those goals. You can't handle the truth. And most people, they don't really even, they don't even, you know, acknowledge it to themselves. They forget about their goals already within a few weeks of January already. And not to mention, you know, staying consistent throughout the entire summer, throughout the entire autumn, and pushing it straight until the end, which is a shame because it comes to show that, that, you know, how, what kind of a mindset that kind of a person has, and how seriously they take their life purpose, even if you take it, you know, take it to that level. Challenge accepted. This is also the time of the year, like people are, you know, relaxing, and they're telling themselves, okay, I'm not going to, I'm not going to reach my goals, so it's okay for me to, you know, forget about them and completely slack off. Forget about it. Forget about it.
Which is another, another example of not showing up to the greatest version of yourself, and holding yourself to a certain standard, because the, the standard you hold yourself to, it's going to influence probably the entire success of your entire life in any area, whether that be in your fitness, in your finance, your intelligence, your personal development in general, and you know, the legacy you want to leave to the world. It's a matter of standards, you know, how fit do you think you should be? It's a standard, how much money you should make is a standard.
And what kind of a person you are is also a standard, your individual standard. And you know, how seriously you take your goals and how much you achieve them, or you know, how well do you progress towards them. It follows a certain standard for you that you set yourself unconsciously. I can forget about it. How do you make sure that you're going to make the most of the remaining parts of this year, this last month of December? How can you, A, if you're very close to your goals, how can you make sure that you will stick it to the end and do achieve it? Because you know, another mistake would be to slow down whenever you're starting to reach the finish line, which in reality, you should be actually pushing it harder and even working even harder towards those goals. Because if you think that you've made it, then the next moment, you're going to slip off and you're gonna fail.
The race lasts only until you reach the finish line. So it doesn't matter whether it's one month out or two days out until the end of the year, you should still consistently keep getting at your goals and making the most of your situation.
How can you also make the most out of the last bits of the year if you're completely off the rails? And how... And you know, there's not much hope for you to reach those goals. How can you still make the most of it? Because if you think that, ah, it's the end of the year, I haven't reached my this year's goals, I'll just, you know, leave it until the next year. I'll start focusing on it on January. I'll just eat crap during the holidays, and, you know, binge on Netflix, I'll be procrastinate, I'll be lazy throughout the entire December. I'll just relax, and I'll do it in 2018
Definitely you shouldn't do that as well, because what it basically tells you is that you don't take your goals seriously, and it also conditions your mind to being this sort of a dabbler who doesn't take things that seriously, and it's going to create this neural network in your brain that's going to repeat that same response in the future, whenever you say to yourself, like, okay, I have this much weight to lose, I have to stay consistent with this goal for this week, and then your brain goes like, uh-uh. Come on, don't bullshit me. But you're the kind of person who doesn't take it seriously. You're the kind of person who lies to themselves, and you're automatically gonna shoot yourself in the foot by doing that. So maintaining an honest relationship with yourself is very crucial aspect of making any progress with anything and, you know, becoming and achieving your goals. I'm also going to give you some steps, some steps to make sure that you do make the best out of this last month of December.
