Siim Land Podcast

Ever wonder why you are the kind of person you are or think the thoughts you have? We all do. We all have a mind. Unfortunately, one of the biggest obstacles in people achieving their potential is their own mind and subconscious beliefs.

In my world, nothing ever bad happens, just something happens. See, bad becomes a subjective analysis or an interpretation of an event. But how many times have we had something happen to us that we might subjectively think is bad, but in a week, a month, three months, ends up being one of the best things that happen to us.

The body is acting as though my life is in danger, but only because the brain is predicting some future threat. One of the biggest obstacles that anyone has to overcome is just the mechanistic nature of what it means to be human, which is trying to avoid something that our brain is telling us could be a bad future.

Welcome to the Body Mind Empowerment Podcast. I'm your host, Siim Land, and our guest today is Peter Crone, The Mind Architect. Peter is a writer, speaker, thought leader in human potential who works with world-class entertainers, professional athletes, and global organizations.

Peter, welcome to the show.

Peter Crone (1:10)

Thanks Sim. Good to be here, buddy.

Siim Land (1:12)

Yeah. It's great to see you again. And we met for the first time a few months ago in LA thanks to a mutual friend. So what have you been up to since that time?

Peter Crone (1:23)

Much the same, you know, doing what I can to free people's minds and liberate their souls and make the world a better place.

Siim Land (1:30)

Yeah, that's good to hear.

But like when I first met you then, I was kind of fascinated about your backstory and your vocation, which isn't actually it's like somewhat, let's say less conventional and you don't hear people doing that kind of work that you do. So maybe can you give like a brief background about what is it that you actually do?

Peter Crone (1:50)

Yeah, for sure. I mean, there's not many colleges that offer a degree in mind architecture, I don't think.

It's sort of something I created. And just because it was sort of the mother and necessity, you know, where there was no particular title that I felt was accurately depicting what I was actually doing. And so that's why I came up with the term mind architects because I felt like it at least spoke to what was happening, which is redesigning somebody's inner thinking space. So what we call mind sort of located somewhere in here to me is founded on these deep codes and programs that we develop over our lifetime, predominantly in our childhood.

And so what I recognize is that I was very much redesigning somebody's identity by shifting what those codes and programs were. So architecture, to me, really was a wonderful way of capturing what I was doing within somebody's mind space. You know, you hire an architect to come and create a particular space you want to live in. And to me, there's no more powerful space we live in than our own mind.

Siim Land (3:00)

So yeah, yeah, that's that's for sure. And I also feel that given it some sort of a name that people are somewhat used to, such as architecture and being an architect, it kind of helps people to understand it a much more conceptual way, because the human mind itself is very conceptual in a sense that we need these analogies and metaphors to kind of describe what happens to us and also describe the world around us.

Peter Crone (3:25)

Absolutely. And I think, you know, there are so many titles and monikers out there that people use, like I've been called a spiritual teacher. And that maybe is also accurate, but it's sort of contaminated, right? People have an idea of what a spiritual teacher sometimes looks like, and it's a guy maybe with flowing robes and a big gray beard, you know. But I just felt like by coming up with a new title, it inspired inquiry.

Oh, wow, that sounds interesting. And now people have to ask questions versus appealing to the part of the mind that is already stuck in knowing. Like as soon as we know something, we're sort of stagnant, right? Because now it's like, oh, I know what that is.

And so I like to maintain that sense of curiosity. So coming up with a title that wasn't so commonplace also allowed people to be a little bit more imaginative in the way that they started a conversation.
