Pre-season week one, we've never been back. Yes, pre-season football means something to us. It means we have big rankings changes. Today, it is running backs. Yeah, we react to the big injuries to Jeremiyah Love and Breece Hall. Also, the split backfield use of the Tennessee Titans and the Minnesota Vikings. Plus, are we nervous about Christian McCaffrey? The dude hasn't practiced for a week. We covered all here on this episode, plus tight ends. Give it a look. I want all of you to take a moment, close your eyes and think of the best sporting event that you've ever attended. That instead of just sitting on your couch, watching on television, you actually went to the game. For me, I was in college.
Steph Curry Davidson was playing the NCAA tournament against Georgetown in Raleigh. It was like Patrick Ewing Jr. All these like 6'11 guys versus Steph Curry and these 6'7 dudes. And I was like, I have to go see this. I have to go see the guy that is launching shots from half court, even if they have no chance to win. And guess what? They won. And it was so much better because I was actually there versus sitting at home. And you can be there in the action by using Game Time. College football is coming up, NFL preseason to watch your favorite rookies. It's all available here on Game Time. And it's not just that. Like I am scrolling to see what is available this weekend in my area.
I can go see Hilary Duff if I want to or the Dirty Govnas. I mean, whatever you want, it's here on Game Time. So get your friends together, get your tickets and tell them it's Game Time. Download, yes, the Game Time app. Create an account and use code fantasy for $20 off your first purchase. Terms apply. Again, create an account and redeem the code F-A-N-T-A-S-Y for $20 off. Big show for all of you because preseason matters to us. Yes, we have massive running back rankings changes. Because after months and months and months of using the same stats and the same information to back up our takes, Hayden, now we have 16 preseason games to change everything around and rework how we want to draft these players.
**Hayden Winks** (2:09)
Yeah, lots of new news. We got injured players, of course. We have depth chart changes and then just even some just kind of tidying up some things that we learned from training camp and see if that's actually come to fruition based off of the depth charts.
**Josh Norris** (2:21)
So today is running backs and tight ends. Tomorrow is wide receivers and quarterbacks. I would say this is one of our most important shows that we do every single year. So hit subscribe, hit a thumbs up because we're in the heart of draft season. And again, teams are honest with us by their wallets, by their draft picks. And I would even say by some of their usage here in preseason week when we're going to dive into all of it here. And that takes us to the Arizona Cardinals and Jeremiyah Love.
Hayden, the timeline is that the Cardinals selected Jeremiyah Love third overall. He did not play in the Hall of Fame game, then gets 14 touches on 24 snaps, 72 yards, and then exits on that final touch with a high ankle sprain. So my question to Mike Lathor is, was it worth it? But Hayden, my question to you is, what does this high ankle sprain do to your rankings, where we're not going to see him for the rest of preseason, and maybe even longer?
**Hayden Winks** (3:14)
Yeah, he's in question for week one, week two. I think after that, he's probably going to be back to where he was. I learned some things before that injury, though, that kind of caught me off guard. He out snapped Tyler Algier 16 to 6 They had a couple of long drives, and he out snapped Algier in each of those. It wasn't even like a rotation, it was just Jeremiyah Love clear cut starter, Algier mixing in like a change of pace guy.
Love was on the field for a third and three play action rep from inside the 10 yard line too. That's maybe an indication that he's going to be the goal line guy on top of this. To me, if he didn't have this injury, I was going to have him like 15th, 16th overall, and I was moving him up because we're getting somebody that's a really good football player that was evident, and we don't have to worry about the games. It just seemed like they were going to ride Jeremiyah Love as the bell cow as they should because he's very clearly much better than Tyler Algier. Because of the injury, I'm keeping him at the 2-3 turn. I have him at 26 overall. I think that a lot of people are going to take his ADP, which is right in that range, and knock him because of the injury and not paying attention to the fact that he was a bell cow back in this preseason game, which we did not know was going to be the case based on how Hackett and the rest of those guys talked about this backfield.
