Five, four, three, two, one.

Fucking yeehaw, Lenny Clarke, ladies and gentlemen, and his brother Mike. Mike Clarke, the second man to ever give me paid work ever in my entire professional career, opening up for Lenny at J's in Pittsfield.

Mike Clarke (0:20)

Yeah. Right?

Lenny Clarke (0:21)

Right, yeah.

Joe Rogan (0:22)

Yeah.

Lenny Clarke (0:23)

I remember that place.

Joe Rogan (0:24)

Norm LaFoe gig.

Mike Clarke (0:26)

I don't even know if Norm's around anymore, but I remember that gig like it was yesterday.

Joe Rogan (0:30)

That guy paid my rent many times, many times. And you did too.

Mike Clarke (0:36)

Yeah.

Joe Rogan (0:36)

Working for you paid my rent.

I worked for Mike one of the craziest gigs I ever did. I think it was a one and done, you never did it again. It was a restaurant, and I was in the seating area, and the microphone for the people when they announced their table was tied to the PA system. So you'd be in the middle of this punchline. He'd be like, so I said to the guy, Clarke, party two, party two, Clarke, your table's ready. Like, oh no.

Lenny Clarke (1:02)

Was that, that wasn't the Mexican place down the Cape, was it?

Joe Rogan (1:04)

No, it wasn't a Mexican place, it was a seafood place.

Mike Clarke (1:07)

Oh, I had a lot of one-nighters back in the day.

Joe Rogan (1:10)

Well, that was the beautiful thing about being a comic in Boston is that if you lived in Boston, you could go anywhere within like an hour, two hours outside the city and work basically every weekend.

Lenny Clarke (1:24)

We were working seven nights a week at one point.

Joe Rogan (1:28)

That's crazy.

Lenny Clarke (1:28)

It was so much, you know, and cash.

Joe Rogan (1:31)

Yeah, cash.

Lenny Clarke (1:31)

Cash, cash.

Joe Rogan (1:33)

Well, it was amazing, but it was also terrible because a lot of people were very bad with the taxes.

Lenny Clarke (1:38)

And they always, my mother told me, don't fool around with the taxes or the mob.

Joe Rogan (1:42)

You might have been the only guy.

Lenny Clarke (1:44)

Oh, I paid, I paid.

Joe Rogan (1:45)

Well, you might have been the only guy. Everybody else got hamstringed. Yeah, Knox got killed, Kenny got killed, and then when they got killed, it was like hundreds of thousands.

Lenny Clarke (1:54)

Oh, it was bad.

Joe Rogan (1:54)

Because it was years and years. And you know, and you got to make that up like, fuck.

Lenny Clarke (1:59)

Oh, yeah. There's no getting out.

Joe Rogan (2:01)

There's no getting out. You wind up paying it for the rest of your life. It's like student loans or something, you know.

What are you doing out here? What's going on?

Lenny Clarke (2:09)

Well, I came out to do this.

Joe Rogan (2:10)

Just this?

Lenny Clarke (2:12)

No, just a little bit more. I was going to do Kimmel, but Smilf got canceled.

Joe Rogan (2:19)

What is Smilf?

Lenny Clarke (2:20)

Single Mother I'd Like to Fuck. It was on Showtime.

Joe Rogan (2:22)

It was the show you were doing?

Lenny Clarke (2:27)

And I played Rosie O'Donnell's Love Interest.

And I love Rosie. I do too. I hit Rosie a break 35 years ago. She never forgot it, you know, and she's always been great to me. So we were going to do that, and then it didn't pan out, and the show got canceled. So for sexual impropriety or something, it had nothing to do with me.

Joe Rogan (2:44)

Oh, really?

Lenny Clarke (2:45)

Yeah, evidently. I don't know.

Joe Rogan (2:46)

Someone behind the scenes?

Lenny Clarke (2:48)

Yeah. Yeah, I don't know what happened.

Joe Rogan (2:50)

It used to be that was the norm. Now shows get canceled for that.

Lenny Clarke (2:55)

And now, oh, thank God, they didn't have cameras, cell phones went on. I'd still be doing time, I'd be doing forever. You kidding me?

Then we're going down to do the Navy Seals Family Foundation, a big fundraiser we do every year.

Joe Rogan (3:08)

Is that in San Diego?

Lenny Clarke (3:09)

Yeah, yeah, down to Coronado, and a good buddy of ours, Kerry Jackson's Navy Seal that we golfed with one day, and we've been in touch with ever since. They're the real badasses. Yeah.

Joe Rogan (3:19)

Coronado's that island, right?

Lenny Clarke (3:20)

Yes.

Joe Rogan (3:21)

I've never been.

Lenny Clarke (3:21)

Oh, yeah.

Joe Rogan (3:22)

It's supposed to be beautiful.

Lenny Clarke (3:23)

I went down, and Mike said, do the obstacle course, so I climbed the rope, then there's these logs, and I got on the logs, I ran across, there was spinning logs, I nearly broke my back. That was it, I was out.
