And four, and three, and two, and one.
Dom Irrera (0:07)
Oh, what a way to lead the show there, Joe Rogan.
SPEAKER_3 (0:09)
I like to do it that way.
Joe Rogan (0:10)
I don't know why I've been talking to you like that forever, but I have.
Dom Irrera (0:13)
I know you. We always go into these Irish exits.
They would throw us out of Ireland with those exits.
Joe Rogan (0:19)
I think it was when you started touring in Ireland on a regular basis.
Dom Irrera (0:23)
That's a long time, Joe.
Joe Rogan (0:24)
Yeah, but you've always been touring in Ireland. I remember you talking about how great Ireland was.
Decades ago.
Dom Irrera (0:30)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (0:31)
Yeah, you've always loved it there.
Dom Irrera (0:32)
I've been to the Kilkenny Festival more than any other white guy. No, I mean American.
Joe Rogan (0:38)
How long have you been there? Tell me times.
Dom Irrera (0:40)
I think like 22
Joe Rogan (0:41)
Holy shit.
Dom Irrera (0:42)
Rich Hall also went a lot, but he's based in London. I'm the only one that actually still comes over.
Joe Rogan (0:48)
Rich Hall.
Dom Irrera (0:49)
Remember him? He did the Sniglets. He was on Saturday Night Live.
Joe Rogan (0:52)
He's based in London now?
Dom Irrera (0:53)
Yeah, he likes it better there.
He still works here once in a while. He's got a place in Montana, but he was on Saturday Night Live, and he did that Sniglets book, and it was a big smash.
Joe Rogan (1:02)
I paid to see him live when I was one week into comedy. He was performing at Stitches, and I went there live to see him.
Dom Irrera (1:10)
Oh, Stitches in Boston.
Jamie (1:11)
Yeah.
Joe Rogan (1:12)
So he lives in London now. Is he still doing stand-up?
Jamie (1:14)
Yeah, yeah.
Dom Irrera (1:15)
I saw him at The Laugh Factory in Vegas a couple weeks ago. Him, Harris Pete and Blake Clark.
Joe Rogan (1:21)
He always used Harris Pete. Like, he would take Harris Pete on the road with him, and Harris Pete used to watch his Montana plays for him.
Dom Irrera (1:26)
Right.
Joe Rogan (1:27)
That's hilarious.
Dom Irrera (1:28)
He was a joyless doorman. Like, he made the comedy experience tense and miserable. But it's pretty funny.
Joe Rogan (1:34)
He was rough as a doorman. Harris is, but he's one of those old staples of the comedy store, where it's almost kind of weird not having him around.
Dom Irrera (1:42)
Yeah, yeah. I mean, he made it so uninviting, you know?
Just to have a smile to show to people, you know, they're gonna have a good time. He made it like a military thing, you know?
Joe Rogan (1:51)
Yeah, it wasn't good. It wasn't good, yeah, and then there was Chewie, who was always the guy who was sort of working the door.
Dom Irrera (1:59)
You could get anything you wanted or anything you needed from Chewie.
Joe Rogan (2:01)
Yeah, allegedly.
Dom Irrera (2:02)
You know, he played guitar at the House of Blues across the street, and he was really good.
He was with this group, and I was thinking, 30 feet away, you're like the schlub who's like, you know, running around trying to sell Coke or whatever he was doing, and here you're like a big star. Like, it's so close, yet so far, you know.
Joe Rogan (2:22)
Yeah, he used to headline at the House of Blues. We would all go over and see him. He was fucking good, man.
Dom Irrera (2:28)
Very good, yeah.
Joe Rogan (2:28)
His band, where is he at?
Dom Irrera (2:30)
I don't know. Wow.
I haven't been seeing him in years.
Joe Rogan (2:35)
You haven't seen that guy in literally forever.
Dom Irrera (2:37)
Well, this whole Renaissance at the Comedy Store has happened since you came back, and the guys, and they started filtering back Bill Burr, and Chris DeLeo came in, but when he was here, it was some slow nights, man.
Joe Rogan (2:51)
Oh yeah.
Dom Irrera (2:52)
You know the place is slow when Paulie and I are the most famous people.
It's not a good sign. I'm not putting myself down, but let's face it, you need a little more than the two of us.
Joe Rogan (3:03)
Yeah, it's weird there now, isn't it? You go there now, it's like it's mobbed.
SPEAKER_3 (3:07)
You can't even get through the hallways.
Dom Irrera (3:08)
I know, it's incredible. I mean, you always think, what's going on? It's nothing, it's just a regular night, but you'll have something in the main room or Sam Tripoli, that's incredible. Tuesday night main room full, that was unheard of.
