Don (0:30)
No.
Hunter (0:30)
So many secrets. So much time.
Don (0:34)
This is going to be Episode 104, I think, or 103 You know, because we did this in order.
SPEAKER_4 (0:45)
We did do this in order.
Tom (0:46)
How was everyone's little breaky break? Everyone's good?
Hunter (0:49)
It's good. I'm still kind of sick, but...
Tom (0:52)
How'd you get sick?
Hunter (0:55)
I think it was an accumulation of mostly Vegas. Vegas, I think, fucked everybody up.
Tom (1:01)
I was a different kind of sick, bro.
Hunter (1:03)
Everybody else got sick first, and then I think I'm the second wave. And I think probably there's one more wave of people who are going to get sick. I was talking to my buddy and he's like, I think I got four different new strains of COVID. I was like, yeah.
Tom (1:15)
You reckon that's what it is, is COVID?
Hunter (1:17)
No, I think it's just, well, it's flu symptoms, but I don't think it's COVID or anything. Like, there's not a lot of the other COVID symptoms unless they've changed.
But it's been like three days and I feel better already. Remember when I had COVID back in the day? I felt like I was pretty fucked for like, probably like a week or so, like two weeks. I can't remember how long it took. Did you guys ever get COVID or no?
Tom (1:42)
Yeah, I got it once.
Hunter (1:43)
How long were you sick for? Do you remember?
Tom (1:46)
I was sick for like bedridden for a couple of days. And then after that, I kind of, I was like, I don't know, took me a couple more days to get better.
Hunter (1:56)
And then I was pretty good. So you'd say like maybe like just like four or five days.
Tom (1:59)
Yeah.
Don (2:00)
Yeah. About the same.
Hunter (2:01)
I want to say, yeah, it was like a week, year to four or five days too, Don.
Tom (2:05)
Yeah.
Hunter (2:07)
I remember like when it first hit me, yeah, I think it was like two or three days of like, yeah, like miserable, like no smell or anything, all that jazz.
Don (2:16)
Oh, that's right. Yeah, you had the smell thing.
I've never met anyone else.
Hunter (2:20)
That was like always the big indicator. I remember I woke up, I was like so stuffed. I was like, oh my God, I'm gonna die.
I got up and I, this is where I still live in Portland, got up in my apartment in there, like walked over the bathroom.
And like now I've done this forever. I don't know why I do. I get all nervous and I smell my hand, but it's like your skin doesn't really smell like anything. So I was like freaking out and I was sitting there and I was like, my mouth just, I was definitely sleeping with my mouth open and my mouth just disgusting texture. So I was brushing my teeth and I spit it out and I was like, why does that feel weird? Why is this weird?
And I was like, I didn't taste. And that's what it was, is I didn't taste any of like the mint that was in the toothpaste. And I was like, oh, fuck. And I opened up my mouthwash and I stuck my nose in the hole of it and I like breathed really, really deep. And I remember I like just like dropped the thing and I like yelled from the bathroom to Alison.
SPEAKER_5 (3:14)
I was like, I can't smell.
Hunter (3:17)
I remember I was so sad because me and Alison both had COVID on our birthdays that year. Her birthday is on the 26th and mine's on the 30th. And I remember by the time my birthday came around, she was fine. And she like went out and got me like a red velvet cupcake for my birthday.
And I was like sitting on the couch watching X-Files just like dying.
And then she came up, she was like, happy birthday. And I was like, thanks. And I like, I took a bite of it and couldn't taste it. And I remember like just like a tear came out of my eye. I was like, I hate my life.
Don (3:45)
It's probably like mashed potatoes without taste. Just mush.
Hunter (3:49)
It literally was. It was just like empty texture, which also without the taste, it was like super weird to get down.
