Chris Black (0:21)

All right, how long gone?

Chris Black, I'm coming to you from the Four Seasons and fucking Silicon Valley. SF Chris is in the building. But more importantly, this is the thousandth episode of How Long Gone. Jason, make some noise for yourself.

Jason Stewart (0:39)

Yes, yes. Congratulations to us. Even though, officially, unofficially, The Ghani is our award show on, you know, 10 days ago, that was sort of our 1000th episode, you know, in terms of making it a big deal. But, you know, the way that we do it over here, we crank out three episodes a week, you know, regardless of what is going on in the world, you guys need entertainment, you're commuting, you're working out, you're walking the dog, whatever it may be, we're here for you, we're gonna give you shit, and it's another day at the office for us, right Chris?

Chris Black (1:13)

It's another day at the office for us, Jason. That's what I would like to remind everyone.

Jason Stewart (1:16)

Ain't shit changed.

Chris Black (1:17)

Ain't shit changed, ain't shit changed.

Jason Stewart (1:19)

Tongue kiss her other tongue, skeet, skeet, skeet, water gun.

Chris Black (1:25)

Woo, Jason said he's got his bars today.

Jason Stewart (1:29)

I'm on Tucci mode for 1,000.

Chris Black (1:32)

Not Tucci mode.

Jason Stewart (1:33)

Yeah, I made a pour over coffee right now, and I was about to do my sidecar of milk, just a nice cold glass of milk, and then I was like, you know what, I'm gonna reach for the David vanilla protein instead, see what that do in my mouth.

Chris Black (1:46)

Good for you, I hope you're strong.

Jason Stewart (1:47)

See how David tastes in my mouth?

Chris Black (1:49)

I bet the stomach gonna be doing backflips so be careful with that, boy.

Jason Stewart (1:52)

No, no, this is my pre, this is my pre-pre.

Chris Black (1:54)

Okay, I don't want the bubble guts for the thousandth, that's all I'm just saying.

Jason Stewart (1:59)

Damn shit, as soon as we've started getting four digits on the board, you started acting different. You have never discussed bubble guts.

Chris Black (2:07)

Bro, you switched up on me, bro. No, no, no, I would never.

Jason Stewart (2:10)

When we hit the one K, you switched up. Actually, I was listening to a friend of the show, Neil Brennan, his podcast. And we've talked about him before. He seems to have changed the name of his podcast to something else.

Chris Black (2:23)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you listen to the Dan Soder episode?

Jason Stewart (2:27)

Yes. And I was listening and noticing that he or his podcast producer or his social media manager or whatever, somebody in and around him and his team said, what if we start adding the sound effects every, let's say, four minutes on this podcast hosted by a millionaire in his 50s?

So I guess my question is, is he too old to be doing that? Will every pod in the future have sound effects like that moving forward? Can you imagine Howard Stern having the sound effect when he drops a fucking truth bomb?

Chris Black (3:08)

Yes, he's too old. Yes, it will continue.

It doesn't really bother. I noticed it too, but I sort of zoned it out, I think. Once I sort of clocked it and reconciled it, I just kept it moving, but it does seem like a choice has been made. I will agree with you on that part.

Jason Stewart (3:27)

When does it end? When you're reading, like I'm going to be reading Ari Emanuel's memoir, is there a point in the future where the audio book will have the, every time he says a dope bar that normally you would highlight in your chapter and say, wow, what a great sentence or a paragraph. And now unless the fa sound effect happens to let us know that a bar was just dropped, a bomb was just decimated, then are we going to be able to even know how to react?

Chris Black (3:59)

You're saying we need that to even know how to react because we're so fraud. I mean, there's some possibilities there.

Jason Stewart (4:06)

If we continue down the path, unless we fight back, of course, in an eco-terrorism kind of way, unless we destroy the machine.

Chris Black (4:14)

I don't think we're fighting the machines. I don't think anybody cares. I don't know where.

Jason Stewart (4:20)

At the FAAF factory. I'm the only one who's against the FAAF factory.

Chris Black (4:23)

Where does the FAAF come from? I recognize it from podcasts. I don't know where it's origin.
