Oh, it's not even really writing jokes. It's my life, guy. That's basically what I'm just up there talking about. The places I've lived and the things I've seen. And listen, I don't know this officially, but that was probably the safest place in Indiana on Sunday with that group of American badasses in there.

**Guy Relford** (1:50)
Well, yeah, the VFW, so you got Veterans of Foreign Wars in there, you bet. And I'm actually an auxiliary member of that VFW.
I did not serve, as you guys know, but family members who have, including my maternal grandfather, was in the Army Air Corps in Europe. So I was able to join the auxiliary, which basically means I didn't serve, but I can still go and support that VFW. So I joined some time ago, and it was a fun event.

For those who might have missed Friday show, I know it was an extended weekend. Some folks may have started their vacation early. You filled in for Nigel. This was the day we got that decision on Lindsey Clancy. So we'll get to some 2A stuff here in just a moment. But first, let me hear from Defense Attorney Guy Relford. From your perspective, what did you think about the decision?

**Guy Relford** (2:57)
Well, the fact that it was a hung jury, I thought it was fascinating the way it unfolded, in that they actually brought the jurors in the courtroom, apparently, and voir d'eard, as we call it. They basically asked questions of each of the jurors, where are you on this? They identified the individual who was the holdout, the 11 to 1, apparently a holdout. The one person saying that the prosecution had proved their case beyond a reasonable doubt, that she was not incapacitated through insanity at the time of these offenses.
And then there was a whole drama about whether that juror should be disqualified and substituted for, or whether the judge would declare a mistrial. And that was just, that all was interesting. But in the wake of that, I went out on social media and posted, I don't know that I've ever gotten so many likes or comments and a lot of challenges and criticism too. But I went out and I explained some changes in Indiana law, since we had some highly publicized cases that resulted in not guilty by reason of insanity decisions that actually resulted in significant changes to Indiana law.
And that's consistent with what's happened in a lot of other states. And at one point I said, don't be surprised if you don't see something like this in Massachusetts, given the outcry over that hung jury and maybe the fact that she won't ultimately be convicted.
