Everybody's talking about this in and out shooting that place where there was a couple of good Samaritans. And we'll get to that here in just a moment. But I want to hear more about that. I want to start here local first. This was a headline from our news gathering partners at Fox 59 Hancock County prosecutor says deadly shooting of unarmed man.
Fills under self-defense, files under self-defense, no murder charges filed in road rage encounter. But there's a lot to digest there, guy.

**Guy Relford** (1:23)
There's a whole bunch. And when this was sort of a developing story, man, I had a million people send me links and ask for my input. And, you know, when we're just going off media reports, initially, I always, you know, kind of want to hold back a little bit and not get too definitive in my statements. But once the Hancock County prosecutor came out, and that's Brent Eaton, who's a good prosecutor. I've had dealings out in Hancock County, and I think prosecutor Eaton does a nice job out there. But once he came out and made the official announcement and then reviewed the facts to say no charges were going to be filed, that they felt like this was self-defense, then at that point, I felt free to comment. I talked about it a bit on my show, but it's really interesting because it's a road rage situation.
And I think the first lesson before we get any deeper than that, the first lesson to learn from this is nobody wins in a road rage.

You've talked about that for years on this segment.

**Guy Relford** (2:22)
Absolutely.

**Nigel** (2:23)
Road rage is usually a result of a very stupid act.

**Guy Relford** (2:27)
Exactly. And I even looked back over my career as a Second Amendment attorney. Of those cases that I've had involving crimes, and these are all felonies, but criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, pointing a firearm, which is what we call that crime in Indiana, intimidation with a deadly weapon, of those cases that I get where I have to go in and defend people, hire me as their attorney, about 60-65% of those are road rage. Same scenario over and over again, people get mad at each other in cars, they're cutting each other off, they're brake checking each other, they're swerving at each other, whatever it is, and then somebody pulls a gun. And listen, with all the cameras out there, whether it's flock cameras or traffic cameras, everybody's got a camera in their phone. It's way too easy for people to get your license plate and you're going to get arrested, and you're going to go to jail, and you're going to get prosecuted. But in this situation, there were two people that were apparently road raging, guy in a Dodge, a guy in a Volkswagen. They're leaving Marion County, going into Hancock County. And right after they get into Hancock County, the Dodge is apparently tailgating the Volkswagen very, very closely within inches. At some point, they get to construction and they both stop. And the guy in the Dodge gets out, approaches the guy in the Volkswagen, and he's threatening and he's aggressive, and he's yelling and screaming, and he said something like, you shouldn't be driving like that on my highways. The other guy at some point gets out of his car holding a gun and says, man, just get back in your car. Just go home. Just get back in your car. Just get out of here.
The other guy identified as a Kevin Powell, 37 years old, starts to go back to his car, stops, turns around and then approaches the other guy aggressively again.
