Tommy Lee was on Dax Shepard's podcast this week and told a story about what he and fellow motley crew bandmate Nikki Sixx did when they ran out of heroin one night back in the 80s.

**SPEAKER_3** (1:03)
I was with my bass player and we were doing heroin and we ran out and it's like, what are we going to do? We unscrewed the cap on a fifth of Jack and filled up the cap with Jack and then pulled a couple of syringes and we're shooting Jack Daniels. I was like, it was at that moment when I went, okay, we can just drink this, but we're shooting it. This is wrong and somebody's going to die. Do you even remember the sensation of shooting booze? Did it do anything differently? Yeah. You could taste it. Oh, wow. You know, like you taste heroin.

Yeah. This is something. Where's Mike Pence to start a needle sharing program for alcoholics?
How are you? How in the world? Like, like the only thing better is that they would have like, you know, butt chucked it with a funnel or something like that. That gets right into your bloodstream as well. From what I'm told.

**Nigel** (1:55)
Right. But I can always tell who knows what we're talking about, who has done this, by who laughs out loud when we say butt chucking.

This is something for sure. Yeah, that's rock bottom. But when they could have easily, the effect would have probably been the same had they just chugged the bottle of Jack instead of mainlining it right into their veins.

**Nigel** (2:19)
Right.

That is the worst of the worst. And even for Tommy Lee, back in the 80s, to realize as hard as they were parting, as many drugs as they were doing, for him to take a step back after they were shooting up Jack into their arms, for him to be like, whoa, hey, wait a minute, this could really cause somebody to die. You don't say, right?

How much of a party animal slash drug addict do you have to be for Tommy Lee to look at you and go, you got a lot of growing up to do?
I mean, that's impressive. That's impressive.

**Hammer** (2:55)
I mean, I've seen him up close, like chug a bottle of Absinthe. Like I've been backstage with Tommy Lee before after his show.

You threw bottles for Tommy, didn't you?

I threw empty Corona bottles in the bathroom, in his dressing room, like they were grenades. And then I saw him the next day, had no clue who I was or remembered. Hey Tommy, how's it going?
Yeah, do I know you?

**Nigel** (3:17)
We had a lot of fun with those bottles, right?

**Hammer** (3:19)
Yeah.

**Nigel** (3:19)
Shut up and I don't know you. All right.

Pretty much, pretty much. But yeah, I would recommend if you're a guy like me, that likes to read rock and roll biographies or autobiographies, read The Dirt. Even better than the movie on Netflix, which is the actual book that he talks about this incident in that book. And it's crazy. Those guys were nuts.

In the movie on Netflix, I don't believe they go into the egg roll story.
Now, if you've read the book, there's an egg roll story about Tommy Lee. I can't even begin to describe what he was doing with the egg rolls.

Oh, I remember. Oh, yeah. Don't do that.
