Yeah, before we get to all the free money that's allegedly being passed out, we've got some issues here in our own backyard. Ryan Hedrick from the WIBC newsroom joins us.
Ryan, we had some fireworks last night at the City County Council Public Safety Committee meeting. This wasn't the full on council. This was the Public Safety Committee. We had Dallas Jet protesters. We had the committee chair that was pissing off the Fraternal Order of Police.
People were being taken out in custody. What happened?

Yeah, so short answer is I have no clue.
And good afternoon, guys. So this first came to my attention on a flyer on Instagram. The Socialist, I hope I'm saying this right, the Socialist Party for Liberation of Indianapolis. Now, I'm not saying that right anyway.

If you butcher their name, I'm fine with it.

Actually, I do want to get it right because it's important for this context.
The Party for Socialism and Liberation. There it is. Okay, so they sent out a flyer on Instagram on Sunday. It started circulating saying that they wanted IMPD, the officers that that shot jet to be charged with murder. And they named all the officers. And they said that on Wednesday, they were meeting at five o'clock in front of the city county building to tell people how they felt about it. So I went to meet them at the rally and it was amazingly organized.

So let's back up just a little bit. Dallas Jet was an individual that was involved in some sort of altercation with the IMPD give or take a month ago and was shot and killed. Now, the original report was he was being combative.
Weapons were involved. But then there was the report of some body cam and some video. And the family was told they weren't allowed to see it until some things were finalized by the IMPD. Do I have this right?

**Ryan Hedrick** (2:48)
Yeah, basically. So we don't know whether the family has seen the edited body cam footage, the entire body cam footage, bits and pieces. All we do know is that Tanya Terry, IMPD chief, said yesterday that they have sat down with the family and the family now wants to go through an attorney and that they have seen the body cam footage. I talked to Devontae Scruggs, who is a cousin or a spokesperson for the Dallas Jet family, and he says that IMPD is not being transparent. They're hiding something, and the family is convinced that Dallas Jet did not shoot at the cops before the cop shot him. And in fact, I've seen Dallas Jet's body. I saw pictures of his body yesterday.
There were no bullets in his back.
I can tell you right now, there were several bullets in his chest and his arms on his legs. No bullet holes in his back that I saw. And that directly contradicts what the family is saying, that Dallas Jet was shot in the back, running away from cops, somehow pointing him out as a victim and not a guy that we know shot at least one police officer.

Now, our friend Rick Snyder, the president of the Fraternal Order of Police, put out a statement today going after the leader of the Public Safety Committee, Leroy Robinson, saying that he lost control of this meeting. The IMPD chief, Tonya Terry, was constantly being interrupted, and the head of the committee was allowing it to happen.
That seems like it's another layer of all of this.

Well, I don't think he lost control because I don't think he ever had control. I was in there to be at the beginning of the meeting and they were letting these people in. And what they had to do first to get in the building is ditch their manufactured signs. They had signs with sticks, and they brought signs in that were rolled up with rubber bands and brought those in as disruptors. And every time Terry spoke, they would say something. But I don't think that Leroy ever had control of this meeting because from the jump, as they filed in one by one, they were being disruptive. And he could have used that position right there and said, wait a minute, we're not going to have this. But he didn't. He let it go on. And it just festered and festered and blew up.
