**Tom** (0:01)
Buckle up, anything can happen here.

**Brian** (0:04)
Oh, hell yeah, let it ride!

**SPEAKER_3** (0:06)
Let it ride!

**Nigel** (0:07)
Hammer and Nigel present Caller Roulette.

**Gary** (0:10)
Yeah!

**SPEAKER_3** (0:11)
This could be the best segment of the day or the worst.

**Hammer** (0:17)
Sometimes you got to put that little ball on the roulette wheel, give it a spin and see what happens.

**Nigel** (0:22)
I'm thinking the worst.

**Hammer** (0:24)
Tom is up first. Tom, welcome to The Hammer and Nigel Show. What do you want to talk about, Tom?

**Tom** (0:29)
Good afternoon, guys. Good afternoon. Good talking to you again. Three quickies here. Caitlin Clark, if she says anything, she's going to risk sponsorship and maybe endorsements. Maybe she's just as well to keep it quiet. So I just wanted to throw that one in.
Second one is it? Okay, go ahead.

**Nigel** (0:51)
No, I agree.
I think if you're going to be, like I've always said, like Caitlin Clark doesn't have to use her platform for anything. She doesn't, I think people are certainly mad at her for not using it for social justice causes.

**Hammer** (1:05)
Right.

**Nigel** (1:05)
But if I'm not going to be mad at her for that, I'm not going to be mad at her for not using it to come out for what Sophie Cunningham has done.

**Hammer** (1:15)
And go back to the Charles Barkley campaign of when he had his shoes out in the 80s and 90s, his whole commercial was, I am not a role model. Parents are the role models. I'm not the role model.
Just let her play ball. You know, I'm not mad at her for that. I agree with you, Tom.

**Tom** (1:31)
Good point. Good point.
Second quick point. Mike Braun, can't we do a virtual vote on extending guest tax exemption? I think it could be done. Why don't we?

**Hammer** (1:43)
I don't believe he's got the authority to do that. It's going to have to be a special session. And even if he were to call a special session today, or let's say we can talk him into it live on the air tomorrow. I don't think the folks at the State House will get there in time for this to take effect before it expires.

**Tom** (2:02)
OK, good point. Frank Mascari, you were talking about him.
Yes, for one thing, Beech Grove needs that money for more catalytic converters.

**Hammer** (2:13)
That is true. That is most certainly true. Those things get stolen left and right.

**Nigel** (2:18)
That's the referendum right there. They need it for the catalytic converters that have been stolen twice.

**Hammer** (2:23)
Right.

**Nigel** (2:23)
That is many months.

**Tom** (2:24)
But if he votes the City Council in Indianapolis next week, this Inside Joe Koehler, you'll understand it. Will he take us to the cleaners?

**Hammer** (2:34)
Hi-o! I see what you did there because he's owned a cleaning business for a long, long time. There it is.

**Candace** (2:39)
Mascari cleaners.

**Hammer** (2:40)
Hey, I appreciate you, Tom. Good stuff, brother. Thank you.
Gary is up next. Gary, what do you want to talk about today?

**Gary** (2:49)
Hammer.
Gary in Columbus. Yo. You know what makes me sick?

**Hammer** (2:56)
What's that?

**Gary** (2:58)
Well, this whole WNBA lesbian, trans controversy, I just have a different take on it, and it hit me today. So I did a little research, and I wanted to know if they actually test biologically for Xs and Ys or chromosomes. And everything I could find out is there is no policy on that at all. And I mean, if you identify as a woman, you can play.
So here's my question for you birds.

**Butch** (3:39)
Go ahead.

**Gary** (3:40)
How long is it going to be before a man who's very good at basketball, but nowhere good enough for the NBA or anything, decides to take on that challenge?

**SPEAKER_3** (3:51)
Yeah.

**Gary** (3:52)
Identify as a woman.
And look, I'm not talking about the pink haired noser ring crowd. I'm talking about a real hairy ass man that can play.

**SPEAKER_3** (4:02)
Yeah.

**Hammer** (4:02)
What if Ron Artest woke up tomorrow who said, you know what, my NBA days are behind me, but I got bills to pay, I got kids to pay for. I am now a woman and I'm going to play in the WNBA.

**Gary** (4:16)
I'll tell you what, the only time I'd ever pay to watch it would be if that happened.

**Nigel** (4:22)
You know, that head coach from Minnesota who was wearing the, you know, Trans Kids Matter shirt, she was all worried. She's on record as being worried about a man taking her job. She's on record. Like a couple of years ago, I'd heard an interview with her. She's like, Oh, the men are taking all the women's jobs in the WNBA. I wonder if she would be upset. I wonder if she would be applauding a trans man taking her job.
