Bradley Jaye Joins to Discuss GOP Midterm Convention

The Hammer and Nigel Show, hello, my name is Nigel Jason Hammer, right over there pivoting, just a little bit, talking about the GOP midterm convention in Dallas. How did it go? Was it successful? Who was it for?
For all those questions and more, the Breitbart News politics editor, Bradley Jaye, joining us back again on The Hammer and Nigel Show. What do you think? 30,000 foot, your take on the convention there for the midterms for the GOP in Dallas?

The convention was a huge success.
What is the primary purpose of a convention? Well, let's look at that. It's to generate excitement of the base, to turn that into volunteers, to help get out the vote and knock on doors, that sort of thing. It succeeded there. There were a ton of people there. It's also about fundraising. I mean, the event raised tens of millions of dollars. That's significant. That's money that would not be in Republican coffers had this event not been held. I mean, the event was just a huge success. And it's important to note, just more existential, I guess, what are Republicans doing by holding this event? They are loudly broadcasting throughout the nation. This is what our party platform is. This is our agenda. This is what Republicans are united around. Could Democrats hold one of these right now? No, Democrats before the midterms are trying to actually shield their true intent, their true agenda, how the DSA candidates have taken over their party. So it really helped drive home that contrast between Republicans and Democrats. Just an overwhelming success, especially when you consider how quickly this was thrown together. Just very impressive.

And Bradley, I agree with you on pretty much all of that. The Republicans were able to do this convention because the party has the money. The DNC is broke as a joke. They can't afford to do one of these things right now. But I've said all week long and leading up to this, this was a missed opportunity on the calendar because the Republicans are the party that has men voting for them right now. Democrats have lost all men. And to schedule this on the first two nights of the NFL season, when you've had a whole summer where you could have done this, feels like a missed opportunity to get that message out there to more men, more of the masses and more of the news cycle. You see what I'm saying?

I definitely see what you're saying.
If you watch Trump's keynote address Wednesday, who was it who was standing behind him? It was nothing but women. If you look at the statistics, we had an exclusive on breitbart.com this week that showed the overwhelming number of people who watch this on TikTok. I don't use TikTok myself, but it was like 34 million or something in impressions on TikTok. I mean, that's a huge amount. So who was the Trump campaign trying to broadcast this to, to show its agenda to? There's a lot of evidence to me that it was going after women, suburban mothers, that type of demographic, the maha crowd, RSK, of course, was featured prominently in the agenda.
I don't know that it was, and the timing, I think suggests this is the case, that it was about just getting folks who were sitting around on the couch tuning in. For a midterm convention, I'm not sure how realistic it is to hope that you'd get a lot of eyeballs that way. It's about getting the right eyeballs and getting the message out. And it seems to me that the Trump administration was pretty effective in doing that.

And then talk about Donald Trump's message. He was, well, he had two, he was the keynote speaker, and then he was also the closer, the closer on both nights. Maybe talk about Donald Trump. I saw the, I saw Donald Trump's speech. He did very well. I thought, what did you think his message was? And how did you think he did?
How do you think it played amongst the GOP?

Politics is all about contrast. The Republicans have been harping for months and months and months now. We are the party of common sense.
We actually have delivered on common sense agenda to address affordability. We've kicked illegals. We've kicked non-citizens off of taxpayer-funded health care. We've enforced safety and implemented law and order in your streets through deportations, the arrest of so many criminals, Americans, and foreigners.
That was on full display this week while Trump also and many of the other speakers did a great job of contrasting that common sense Republican policies, which is the craziness that again, these Democrats, they're trying to hide what is driving their agenda. Look, the Democrats have been these crazy socialists for a long time.
