**Guy Relford** (0:00)
Ask The Gun Guy, Guy Relford filling in for Hammer.
**SPEAKER_2** (0:03)
Yeah, we've got a bunch of callers. Let's go to Joe. Joe, welcome to Hammer Nigel. What do you got for us?
**Guy Relford** (0:10)
I wanted to get an opinion about the case in Whitestown, and then I had a quick question with the Whitestown incident. What do you think about gun owners getting a fair trial?
**SPEAKER_2** (0:22)
Joe, let me let me cut you off, but that's a pending case and it's my case.
So I can't go into any kind of detail on that case at all. We have a new trial setting in November. I expect it to go to trial in November. That's all a matter of public record. And I hate to put you off on that, Joe, but as a lawyer, I have real ethical restraints on talking about a pending case, buddy. So sorry, I couldn't go into any more detail on that. Let's go to Dana. Dana, welcome to Hammer Nigel.
**SPEAKER_3** (0:55)
Yes, I was calling down. Could I say something about Delphi?
**SPEAKER_2** (1:00)
Sure. Absolutely. I was just in that courtroom last week. I had a pretrial conference up in Delphi in Carroll County, a beautiful courthouse. But yeah, what, what do you, what question you have?
**SPEAKER_3** (1:13)
Well, here's the problem. Here's the problem.
How did the girls go down the hill at 1.30, 2.30, or 3 o'clock? If I seen them in town on 421 at 3.30.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:27)
This is not a 2A related question.
**Guy Relford** (1:30)
No, we're going to, it's going down a different route. I'd have thought I'd ask.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:36)
I appreciate it, man.
**Guy Relford** (1:37)
Thanks.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:38)
Yeah, Dana, sorry, buddy.
**SPEAKER_4** (1:40)
Trust me, there's a lot of questions I want to answer about that case.
**SPEAKER_2** (1:44)
And you know, I so much enjoyed doing that coverage with you and Hammer, by the way. Yes. And we bought Donnie Burgess in. Yes. And we got relays, information from Donnie Burgess pretty much every day. And I love doing those segments with you. But man, the broader question, I did think there was probable cause, or excuse me, I thought we did think there was reasonable doubt all over that case. We all did. We all did. And so, but you know what? But that's one thing I always said. And you heard me say it over and over again right here in the studio, which was if you're not in a courtroom, if you're not sitting in the witness box, or excuse me, if you're not sitting in the jury box, and you're not listening to all the testimony, and you're not seeing it live, you're not seeing the documents, you're not seeing the pictures, then you really don't know.
And so, we could only offer sort of third-hand opinions. Doug, welcome to Hammer Nigel. Man, what do you got for us?
**SPEAKER_4** (2:39)
Well, last night, I was listening to your station, and you were talking about people that had never used Facebook or the Internet personally, you know, for personal stuff. And I'm 73 years old, and I've never been on Facebook or Instagram or Twitter or any of those things. I would have beat the guy that said he was 70 and had never been on. I was trying to reach you, but I never did it.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:08)
Do you have a 2A question, sir?
**SPEAKER_3** (3:10)
Yeah.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:11)
Do you have a gun-related question? Yeah, I'm not sure what segment you're talking about. It's not anything I talked about, Doug. But you have to... Let's move on to the... Yeah, I'll tell you what. This is actually... This is our last caller, and that's Rex. Rex, welcome to Hammer Nigel. Man, what do you got for us?
**SPEAKER_3** (3:28)
Hey, gentlemen. Good afternoon. Thank you.
**SPEAKER_2** (3:32)
Absolutely.
**SPEAKER_3** (3:33)
Quick question on short-barrel rifles and short-barrel rifles that are...
**SPEAKER_2** (3:39)
Make it quick. You got a minute. Okay?
**SPEAKER_3** (3:41)
They are manufactured, and I have found that out. That's how it was manufactured. Do you need a special stamp or license to own that versus just a protective personal carry?
**SPEAKER_2** (3:58)
Yes. If it's a rifle, meaning a firearm designed to be fired from the shoulder through a rifled barrel, and it's got a barrel less than 16 inches long, then it's a short barreled rifle, and that has to be registered through the National Firearms Act with the ATF.
If one has already made that way and you want to transfer it to you, you and the seller fill out what's called a Form 4 It's an ATF Form 4 That's available online. You can fill that out. And once there's no tax on that anymore, the $200 tax went away a year ago and you transfer that as soon as you get that approval and you're good to go. But thanks for calling, Rex. It's been Ask The Gun Guy. Thanks a lot, buddy. Always a pleasure.
