I'm Lynden Blake and you're listening to That's So Criminal.
All right, it is Thursday, August 27th, 2026 The closing arguments in the Lindsay Clancy Trial are finished. They wrapped up before lunchtime on Thursday. And I want to say pretty spot on about what the prosecution and the defense were gonna bring home in their closing arguments the last time they were talking to the jury before the jury went to deliberate. Still no verdict as of Thursday.
Jury deliberated about three hours before being sent home. But I want to get into a closing argument recap, first starting with the defense. They went emotional. They played to the jurors' emotions.
Kevin Reddington, he is the criminal defense attorney pro. He's in his 70s, he's been around the block. He was complimenting the jurors to start out saying, thank you, they've been very diligent, just appealing to their emotional heartstrings. And then, like we said, he was going to go hard after the healthcare system, blame Lindsay's postpartum psychosis, which the defense is saying is the reason she killed her children back in January of 2023 She was a puppet pretty much, had no control of her actions, but this was because of the healthcare system and all the medications that she was on. Reddington framed Lindsay as a loving mother who loved her family. And he did say the kids still aren't forgotten. Again, playing to the emotions, he showed pictures of Lindsay looking happy with her family, with her children.
**Kevin Reddington** (3:32)
This is what they have. This is their family.
**Lynden Blake** (3:40)
And he asked, how do the children end up dead? Well, Reddington said she lost her mind because of this.
**Kevin Reddington** (3:47)
Because of the damn medicine and the lousy medical care that she got.
**Lynden Blake** (3:52)
I told you, he went hard at the healthcare system. But he continued to take shots at the prosecution, too.
**Kevin Reddington** (3:59)
How many people are sitting in the front row, and they're all going to sit there and be proud of this prosecution? I told you in the opening statement that this is a prosecution that has ripped the soul out of this girl.
**Lynden Blake** (4:11)
He also went out for the prosecution's rebuttal witness for not interviewing Clancy until three years after the murders. This was the final witness, Dr. Gregory Sadoff. He used this as basically saying, the prosecution, how can you listen to anything that their rebuttal witness said? He didn't talk to Lindsay until, you know, three years after this. And he mentioned that his witnesses, they've been with Lindsay this entire time. Reddington said, Lindsay owned what she did. She never ran from anything. He's painting her as this person who did everything she could to not end up in this situation. He got visual examples, showing the jury her journal. He said she was journaling all of December of 2022, documenting how she was feeling, her medications. But in January of 2023, nothing. And Reddington said, by that point, her mind was gone.
