You know, college football has never been more popular, and I'm a little biased, because my school, Indiana, which was the worst college football program in the history of college football, won a national championship. So I think college football always have is the greatest sport, even though I played basketball.
Cody Campbell is the head of the Board of Regents at Texas Tech, and he's in the middle of a firestorm because of all that's happening. He's nice enough to join me. Before I get into all of the stuff that you're involved in, I had a chance, I was on vacation, Urban Meyer, myself, our wives in Key West, and your college coach comes over on a boat, Mike Leach, with some derelict buddy of his. And I gotta tell you, man, when your coach shows up, the party is on because I was getting ready to go to bed, he shows up and we're up till three, four in the morning laughing our ass off. He got a chance to go in the Hall of Fame now. Give me your thoughts on Coach Leach.

Coach Leach changed my life. You know, Coach Leach made me the man I am. And I loved him and stayed close to him until, I talked to him maybe a week or 10 days before he passed away. And I miss him. And you know, all these struggles we're having in college football today, I know that Coach Leach would have the solution to those problems, right? You know, I mean, they would be something nobody else had thought of, and everybody would think they're crazy at first. And then they say, hey, you know what? That's a pretty good idea.
But I just wish he was around and wish I could seek his council and talk to him. And he was a great man and a great football coach and changed the game of football at every single level. So if anybody deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, it's him. And if he does get inducted, I'll be there that night. And I can't wait to celebrate it.

You know, people ask me this all the time about Coach Knight, my coach, he coached the Texas A&M. Obviously, I worked for him for as with him 16 years. And they always ask me, how would he have handled the NIL, the world that we're currently and how do you think Coach Leach would have?

**Cody Campbell** (2:58)
I don't think he would have handled it particularly well. I think if a guy asked for more money, he would have told him to hit the door. I think he might have taken kind of the Mike Gundy approach, which hasn't worked out very well.
So, you know, he was an adaptive, smart guy. He was a lawyer and so, you know, I think there is a chance that he would have figured it out, but it would have been a tough adjustment for him because he was a tough coach. He was a hard-nosed coach and he didn't care necessarily about a kid's talent level. He cared about how focused they were in execution and how hard it worked. And so, I think that he would have sided more with the players who were just willing to be there and do the right thing than the ones that are just looking for money. So, it might have been a difficult transition for him, but he was a brilliant man and I know he probably would have figured it out.
