Yankees Fans EXPLODE Over Jazz Chisholm’s Lollipop… Big Mac Can’t Believe It!

So if you're just getting into The Carton, checking us out for the first hour of the show, obviously the big news today was the fact that Jazz Chisholm had a lollipop in his mouth in the field yesterday during the Yankees loss to the Tigers. People saw it, they reacted negatively to it, like, what are you being so cavalier? Why are you eating a lollipop during the game? You don't care. Then Aaron Boone was asked about it on a podcast today, and he said while he didn't see it live, it was brought to his attention after the game, and it pissed him off to the point where he has spoken to Jazz Chisholm about it, and there will be no more lollipops amongst Yankee players during games.
I've never seen a guy do it before, but then the question becomes, how big a deal is it? How bothered are you that Jazz Chisholm was working on a blow pop while playing second base?

The way you say working on the blow pop, it's so much worse.

Because it wasn't just in the side of his cheek, he was working it, in his hand, in his mouth. And obviously it ticked off, obviously we broke the story there, I ought to talk to Chrissy Freud for a second, but if you're on hold and want to get your thoughts in here, Big Mac has no problem with it. He thinks everybody should be allowed to eat a lollipop if they so choose during a baseball game.

I'm saying we've seen it before, I'm curious what makes this worse. That's all I'm saying. I'm curious what makes it worse. And for some reason the stick makes it worse, it's dangerous, it's a threat to everyone on the field, it's a threat to him, it's a threat to everyone, it's a weapon out there. And then the other one I'm seeing right now is, what about the kids, Chris?

They're role models. You think, what if kids suddenly just started, what if your son ran out to the ball field with a lollipop in his mouth? What would you let him do?

Well, as a parent, you'd probably say get the lollipop out of your mouth.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:52)
Yeah, and if my son ran out with a $50,000 chain around his neck, I'd probably say, don't wear that. But this is Major League Baseball.
And they do things differently.

Yes. Wait, your son has a $50,000 chain?

If he did, he wouldn't be able to wear it on the field.
They wear jewelry. It's different.

So, wait, someone's suggesting to you that, much like every Little League kid in America now has an oven mitt on to play Little League Baseball, there's a concern that players are going to try to emulate Jazz Chisholm and work blow pops into their game?

Now kids are going to see this and run all over the field. There's got to be... It's such nonsense. We are angry because the Yankees haven't won since 9 We are angry because they make decisions we don't agree with. We're angry because Anthony Volpe plays more than we would like. We're angry. We're angry because they lost three in a row to the last place Cincinnati Reds and the 10 games under 500 Detroit Tigers. And so we're angry and we don't like Jazz because he says he's going to hit 50 and 50 and he's nowhere near it. And we're mad because he gets thrown out on the base pass on a drop pop up. And then in the post game says, I would do the same play again. And we're mad. So we don't like. So here's a lollipop. A lollipop.

No, we can't have lollipops. We're mad. That's what this is about.

You think? Yes. Or there's some people that just don't like a player with a lollipop in his mouth.

The Yankees are a clown organization who've been run like a clown organization. You're the first caller. You're the problem, Chris, because you defend this owner, you defend this general manager, you defend the manager, and you're the problem.
