What's Next for Geno Smith & The Jets? Craig & Big Mac Discuss

The Carton Show with Craig Carton & Chris McMonigle

June 22, 2026

Craig Carton and Chris "Big Mac" McMonigle react to the breaking news and viral video involving New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith. Allegations of a wild domestic dispute, a police wellness check, and bizarre accusations have surfaced—but what is the actual truth behind the video?
Speakers: Craig Carton, Chris McMonigle

You know, the allegations out there about New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith. So there's one video with a gal who is at his house, I'm not sure if she lives there or not, that basically says that Geno Smith just beat her up and that he's incapable of taking care of his special needs son because he'd rather watch porn online and play Call of Duty. And that obviously makes the rounds. I guess police officers did a wellness check at the house, went into his house, I guess talked to whoever was there, looked around, and left without arresting him. So I think that's a good thing, a good sign.
And then the mother of the child of his son, who's not the gal in the video, came out and said in a paraphrase in this obviously, that he's a very capable father, does spend time with his son, and basically leave my son out of it, you lunatic. So the story's kind of had a bit of an evolution. None of it's good, obviously, especially because there's a child involved.
But yeah, I think we all kind of went to bed or woke up this morning to the news of, uh-oh, like what is going on here? Now she might be out of her mind crazy, maybe he broke up with her, maybe it's that you don't get out of my house and she didn't react well, or maybe it's true, or maybe something in the middle. But it was not, as the Jets just broke camp a day early over the weekend, and now a few weeks off before the actual training camp starts, I'm sure even the Jets are like, come on man, what is this?

**Chris McMonigle** (1:31)
And again, video is always, if there's a video of it, it's never good.
Even in the video, which again, she might be, as you said, out of her mind, we don't know, but it looks like for a second she's running from him, then he's in her car and she's like, get out of my car, why would he get into my car? It looks like he's pushing her off for a second, again, I don't know, but it's never good when an incident like that is on camera and you see the Jets quarterback in that position, shirtless, arguing with a woman right in front of his house, getting in her car, it's just like, man, this is the last thing they need right now.

**Craig Carton** (2:03)
Doesn't mean he broke the law.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:04)
Doesn't mean he did anything wrong.

**Craig Carton** (2:06)
It's overall concerning.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:08)
Hopefully it's a story that goes away for him.

**Craig Carton** (2:11)
And by the way, you're allowed to like porn, watch a lot of it, and play Call of Duty, because I was just thinking about myself, if you took those two things away from me, I don't know that I have much else going on.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:26)
That's it.

**Craig Carton** (2:27)
On some days.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:28)
I mean, listen.

**Craig Carton** (2:29)
There's some days, that's like a good day.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:31)
No, man.

**Craig Carton** (2:32)
Like on a Saturday afternoon, and your favorite college team just played, and you know, your family's away, Red Tube, Call of Duty.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:42)
I can just tell you this.

**Craig Carton** (2:43)
And Marnie's and Coke.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:44)
For many years here. Many years. I had the weekend schedule, and my off days were Monday, Tuesday.

**Craig Carton** (2:50)
Okay. Home alone.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:51)
Those Mondays and Tuesdays home alone, with nobody else around. Everyone else working or at school.

**Craig Carton** (2:57)
Yeah.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:58)
Porn and video games. Played a role.

**Craig Carton** (3:00)
There's not much else to life.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:01)
Played a role in my life.

**Craig Carton** (3:03)
How was your day, honey? Great! As a matter of fact, Slept till noon.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:07)
You just took the words out of my mouth. Woke up at noon. It was Monday night football and in between.

**Craig Carton** (3:13)
You never know.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:14)
I did whatever I did.

**Craig Carton** (3:16)
Exactly right.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:18)
Inherently, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

**Craig Carton** (3:20)
Yeah. When I heard the accusations, I was like, I'm okay with that.
I had to find an objection, to be honest. It was the other stuff.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:29)
You could say worse things.

**Craig Carton** (3:30)
The allegations of him beating her. And again, police did go to the house and no arrests were made.

**Chris McMonigle** (3:36)
No.

**Craig Carton** (3:37)
So whatever they saw, they were comfortable that everything was kosher.
