Well, they got some work to do. We will see if they can do just that over these next few hours. But joining us now, as we turn our attention from baseball to the gridiron, college football in five weeks, we'll be back in our lives. And to help us get ready for what is happening in the SEC, we bring in college football radio host for SEC Unfiltered, Cole Thompson, who joins us here via the Progressive Guest Line, and he's on Twitter at Mr. Cole Thompson. Cole, happy college football season, man. I know we're not quite there yet, but we're getting pretty damn close, in your opinion, because you talked to a lot of people down there. You covered the SEC religiously, like 24-7. What do you think has been the biggest storyline coming out of SEC media days so far?

Oh man, what direction do you want to go? Eli Drinker would drop in a bomb and say, hey, nine conference games. Meanwhile, Indiana just stifles their way to a national championship. You want to go with that one? You want to go with John Somerall making a joke that apparently didn't hit, but he's a loose cannon cop, and he's just relatively honest.
I think that the main one that we could focus on a little bit quiet is the storyline of Ole Miss with Pete Golding taking on over. I thought his comments today were very stable and secure of a guy who understands. This is just the changing times of college football. You can't expect to continue to stick around with one job when an opportunity such as LSU opens. There's no hard feelings. There's no bygones be bygones. But I can tell you what, nobody's going to care when week three rolls around and you have the Tigers coming into Oxford, Mississippi, with trade-out champs and Kiwan Lacey, who both, I thought, very emphatically said, he was my head coach last season. Nothing more, nothing less. We're here to win in week three. When they come to town, that is going to be a game that I think is really just circled on the calendar of if you have college football in your veins, you better find a way to get to the likes of Oxford, Mississippi and pay attention to that game. Another storyline I think is going to be really interesting is the status long-term of Shane Beamer. Shane Beamer has done himself no favors by saying in the off season, when you go four and eight last year, hey, this time next season, we will be in the college football playoff. Great, so much like the USC out in Southern California, this USC better be able to make a run to the post season that they want to make sure that they don't have another head coach on the Fritz. It's been a rocky, commetulist rollercoaster of a 10-year out in Williams Price Stadium for a guy like Shane Beamer. Again, this is somebody who has had a winning season followed by the biggest losing season of all, a terrible offensive line. They have the talent. They went out this off season. They made massive moves to build up this rapport, so that way they can be a team that is actually going to be competitive. And it's an even year or so. Naturally, we think that this is where Shane Beamer should turn the corner. But what if they struggle early on? And then, of course, with the nine-game conference schedule, how enticing is a job like South Carolina compared to other locations out there?
