He was fine, but he wasn't Cy Young worthy, if you will. So a five three win for the Toronto Blue Jays over the Boston Red Sox. Our game of the night is underway in San Diego. No score between the Brewers and the Padres. Walker Bueller, two scoreless innings so far. Kyle Harrison heads out for his second inning of work. And lastly, before we get to our guest, your boy Bednar in right now for the Yankees to try to close this one out, Matt, is it is a 4-1 lead for the New York Yankees. And Derek Bednar, or David Bednar, I beg your pardon, has really been strong. And you've been singing his praises these past couple weeks.

David Bednar. He, over the last two months, probably the best closer in baseball. He's just next level confidence with this guy. He reminds me of the way he's throwing now his demeanor on the mound.
It's almost like Goose Gossage is back closing games for the Yankees. I wonder if Jared Smith gets that reference.

Well, Jared Smith, New York Yankee fan, joins us right now courtesy of our progressive guess. Do you get that reference? The Goose Gossage reference?

Those are some great Yankees teams. Reggie Jackson, of course. Those were elite Yankees. I was not born yet, but I did watch a lot of film documentaries on those years.

**Tim Murray** (1:44)
Well, Jared, let's dive right into a little football. We were talking Louisville last segment. Matt, in our VSiN College Football Betting Guide, has Louisville winning the ACC.
I think they are very live week one. And my, you know, dart throw of the season is Lincoln Kynholtz to win the Heisman Trophy betted 110 to one here at Circa. I know you did a deep dive recently on Kynholtz and what to expect for him as the first time as a full-time starter in big time college football.

Yeah, I honestly, it's the mystery box.
And if you trust Jeff Brom, which I do, I think there's certainly a lot of upside there. He's not the biggest kid, 6'2, 2'15. He's not an imposing figure in the pocket, like an Arch Manning.
He's more of an athlete. He's gonna get you in the RPO game. He didn't put a lot on film, obviously, in mop up duty for Ohio State last year. I did watch some of the Grambling Tape. I watched some of the Minnesota UCLA Rutgers mop up film. He made a few plays where you're like, okay, you can see the traits where he went through a couple progressions and he went from one side of the field to the other and found the open window and delivered a strike. And I think that's gonna be the biggest question is can he take that step in terms of understanding how to play the quarterback position? We know he can run. We know there's gonna be a lot of RPO and a lot of read option and he's gonna be on the edge. But is Jeff Brom gonna have to bootleg and waggle this guy to death or is he gonna be able to drop back and make plays in the pocket and push the ball down the field? They do have a couple of intriguing weapons. The kid from Vanderbilt, Richardson, McCoy from Florida State, obviously the transfer portal.
You just don't know how that chemistry is gonna be. But if Brom can get the stew and get the right ingredients, I certainly think the ceiling is high. The reason that the floor is really high is because their defense is fantastic and they lost their defensive coordinator Ron English, but they replaced them from within. So there'll be some continuity there. They brought in some nice pieces in the portal. No Miami, no Clemson on the schedule. The game against Ole Miss is the trigger. I mean, if they can win that game, I think that starts the kind holds Heisman Trophy campaign. But even if they don't win that game, I certainly think eight to nine wins feels like a really safe projection for them this year.
