We are off and running on a Monday evening. Alongside Matt Youmans, I'm Tim Murray, less than three weeks away from the start of the college football season, less than a month away from the start of the regular season in the NFL. This week, Matt, full slate of preseason action.
The last time you and I were together on air, it was the greatest preseason game of all time. The Hall of Fame game with Haynes King going into the end zone. Got the juices flowing, baby. So we are locked and ready to go. Talking some NFL, college football, but of course, lots of baseball tonight as we get underway on a Monday evening.

**Matt Youmans** (0:48)
Yeah, the NFL preseason is a big thing for me this week. Been doing a lot of work on it the last couple of days and be doing more. We got six games on Thursday, 16 games this week.
I put the quarterback depth charts up at vsin.com, wrote a little column about it this week. I have not bet anything yet, but hoping to bet something tonight or by tomorrow morning. Trying to get as much information as possible on how coaches are going to play these games with the quarterbacks. We've got some information, but not a whole lot at this point. I always find the NFL preseason to be a challenge. Yeah. A challenge that I welcome, right? Because some, you're not going to win every year, but most years do pretty well in the NFL preseason. Hopefully, this is going to be a winning year.

Well, the first half under did not get there for me in game number one.

**Matt Youmans** (1:34)
One game. But it's only one game. Turn the page. Here we go, baby. On to the next.

**Tim Murray** (1:38)
On to the next opportunity. Six games, as you mentioned on Thursday. You've got to call them up over at vsin.com, and we are going to dive into the quarterback depth charts. This is a very important process, I believe, during the year and you've charted it out. We'll do this throughout the show here tonight. But Matt, we got a handful of baseball games. Before we get to our game of the night, we got to talk and have a serious conversation here about the slumping Boston Red Sox. They're in trouble. Two straight losses. The West Sacramento A's. What do you always say, Matt? That's baseball, Susan, right?

That's what John Sterling used to say to Susan Waldman, the worst radio team in the history of Major League Baseball, Sterling and Waldman. As a Yankees fan, you want to listen to the games on the radio and you just couldn't, because Sterling and Waldman, it was painful torture.
We don't have to worry about that anymore. No, we do not.
I would say that the Red Sox stunned me the last couple of days by losing two games at home to the A's. I think they stunned a lot of people. Fortunately, I did not put the Red Sox in any parlays on Saturday and Sunday, and I thought about doing it, but did not. And that is crazy. That's the crazy thing about baseball. The hottest team in the league, by far, at home.

27-3 in the last 30 games.

**Matt Youmans** (2:58)
Historic streak, right? 27-3 over 30 against a team that can't beat, probably couldn't beat many AAA teams at the time. The A's were 7-33 over 40, and then the A's won the next two.

**Tim Murray** (3:14)
The A's, as Ben Ross pointed out on Twitter, the A's had lost 12 straight series for the first time in 110 years. So of course, they go to Fenway Park and take two out of three.

**Matt Youmans** (3:25)
Against the hottest team in the sport over the last 10 years or whatever.

**Tim Murray** (3:28)
So yeah, baseball makes a ton of sense.

**Matt Youmans** (3:30)
That's baseball. It is reinforcement to betters out there that there's no free squares on the bingo card.

**Tim Murray** (3:35)
Friday night, it seemed like, all right, 13-1, easy. We got Peyton Tolley and his mustache striking out. Everyone, this is easy money. And then they lose on Saturday and Sunday. But the Red Sox back at it. Matt Gabe starts in about four minutes. We'll have it on the screens here. Sonny Gray takes the hill for those slumping Red Sox at around $1.60 favorite or so. Circus a little bit more expensive. Jamison Tyon, the former Cub, he was traded at the deadline to the Blue Jays. Kevin Gossman, of course, goes to the Chicago Cubs. Tyon for the Blue Jays. $1.65 favorites are the Red Sox. Matt, total eight or eight and a half to the Red Sox. Get off the schneid.
