Hey, everybody, welcome to That's Me, That's Me. I'm Monica Kaye.

And I'm Julia Jay.

And we're broadcasting from the beautiful Cincinnati Public Radio studios. Here on That's Me, That's Me, we talk about what brought people back after their first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. What did they see, hear, feel that encouraged them to return to the rooms? And each week, we invite a guest to come on the show to share their story of what brought them back to their second meeting. And the moment they began to relate and say to themselves, that's me, that's me. Hello.
Hello, you.
I like that intro, Julia.
**Julia Jay** (1:05)
Hello.
**Monica Kaye** (1:06)
How was your week?
**Julia Jay** (1:08)
It was good. I've been very giggly this morning with you reading, because last week we got into a laughing fit that we didn't seem to be able to cure for a while. So anyway, that was my giggling. My week was good. All I can think about is mice, because we have mice in our house. And so I've been obsessed. So I go through these stages of like, first it's denial, like it's fine. There's nothing, right? It's, as my friend says, that's probably just chocolate sprinkles.
And then, and then I go into full-blown like resentment towards my husband because it's his fault, right? And then I go into like attack mode. And I won't go into the particulars of how we are addressing it. But I get a little bit obsessed. So we're, what do they call it? Mitigating the problem? Yeah.
So yeah, that's my exciting world right now.
**Monica Kaye** (2:22)
I have no mice because I have two cats. But every now and then I see one that's met its demise. So they're doing their job. But you know.
**Julia Jay** (2:28)
I want to borrow one of those cats.
**Monica Kaye** (2:31)
When you live with a little bit of land around you or well, they're just here. It's that time of year.
It's funny when you said that we couldn't find a cure for our laughing jag because after I went home that day, that felt so therapeutic. Like I can't remember the last time. Like I couldn't even speak because I was laughing so hard and none of it made sense. Which those usually don't like that. We're trying to explain what kicked it off and it's like none of it's going to make any sense.
**Julia Jay** (2:54)
The best was that it was that moment where we kept trying to start over and one of us would keep it together. The other one would burst out laughing and then the other one would lose it. That was the best. There's nothing like that. So I highly recommend if you are having a hard time to try to record something with a friend and not laugh. It's very fun.
**Monica Kaye** (3:12)
And I wish we had some way to do That's Me, That's Me Bloopers. It would have been a great blooper episode. Anyway, it's been a great week. The weather here has been nice. So lots and lots of yard work and I find that just so therapeutic to spend the whole day outside in the dirt, around green stuff and poking around. And no, I mean, I'm happy to be here once again. Last night, I was like, yay.
As we say, one more sleep until we get to do the podcast again.
**Julia Jay** (3:42)
It's today. All right. Well, on that note, I'm super excited because I have been dying for this guest to be here.
Her sobriety date is March 25th of 2017 She got sober in Tampa, Florida at the Yana Club. Did I say that right? Yeah.
And I met this person on a Zoom meeting, which is so wild to me. I remember her getting on this meeting and I was like, who is this girl? She's hilarious. And then I would subsequently every week be like, I want that girl to be on there. And then we became friends in real life. And it's like the cool thing about being sober and living life is like you meet friends, I don't know, like this person came in my life where I didn't know that I needed her so desperately in my adult life. And it became one of my very best friends. And I'm very excited that Alison W is joining us today.
**Alison W** (4:46)
Hello, everyone.
**Monica Kaye** (4:47)
Hi, Alison.
**Alison W** (4:48)
By everyone, I mean Monica and Julia.
**Monica Kaye** (4:52)
And the thousands of people listening to us this morning, or whenever they're listening.
