So as President Trump considers restarting major combat operations, nonetheless, he's ordered 12 consecutive days of bombing Iran. Meanwhile, the Houthis attacked two Saudi tankers on the way to the Red Sea, driving up oil prices again.
Brent crude is now over 100 bucks. West Texas is $93. Both of them are up about 30% plus from the recent lows. Gasoline is up over $4 now. The 10-year bond has jumped to 4.70%.
Stocks got whacked today. Now the question is possible inflation impact from the jump in oil. The Federal Reserve meets next week. Will they hold rates steady or not? We're going to talk to former Energy Secretary Dan Briet. We've got Michael Falkender and Muhammad L. Arrien also. Meanwhile, Senator Thune actually said the Senate lacks votes for the $95 billion House budget resolution. And Press Secretary Caroline Levitt says President Trump's patience with Thune and Senate Republicans is low. Take a listen.

Larry, I tell you, President Trump, we learned today, is not feeling any pressure from congressional Republicans, nervous about the midterms, to wrap up the war in Iran. On the contrary.

The president also tells Axios about Iran. I am considering a massive attack, bigger than ever before. I am close to making a decision. We are all set for it. The president also now throwing a major speed bump in front of what seemed like a done deal to let Saudi Arabia start their own civil nuclear program. Now, they can't do that unless they first establish formal diplomatic relations with Israel.

Do the Saudis agree with this interpretation since it wasn't part of the initial agreement, and has the president talked to NBS since this new condition?

As you know, the president just put out this statement a few hours ago. I don't believe he's had a call with NBS in the hours since. However, this is something that he has raised in previous conversations and has also said many times in the past.

I went back and looked at some of the videos she was referring to from when NBS came to the White House a few months back, and he did say that Saudi Arabia would be interested in joining the Abraham Accords, but he's got a huge condition of his own.
They'll join the Abraham Accords if the world starts to recognize a Palestinian state. So President Trump now has a condition that is possibly unlikely to be met, the same way that NBS has a condition that is possibly unlikely to be met. Larry?

Yeah, Peter, that's good research. That Palestine point is very, very important. And also, let me just ask you, a deal like this with Saudi Arabia, would that has to go through Congress one way or another, either as a resolution or as a funding mechanism? It'll be a line item someplace?

**Peter Ducey** (4:50)
Yeah, one way or another. And it's something that the Department of Energy has to figure out. The president insists that they support nuclear programs when they're used for civil purposes anywhere in the world.
