Good morning, everyone, and welcome to MidDays, SuperTalk Mississippi. It is Palmer Home for Children Radiothon Day, taken over here for Richard Cross. He did a four-hour stint this morning. Appreciate that, Richard. I'm here with Rhino, both of us on site. The one time a year, Rhino, that we're at the desk together.
And we're here, of course, for the annual Radiothon. And let me just make sure that everybody understands, as Haley Barber used to say, former governor, we got to keep the main thing, the main thing. And today, the main thing is we're just not going to beat around the bush. We want your money because we're trying to help the good people here at the Palmer Home for Children. A morning to everyone. Thanks for tuning in. And in a second, right on, I'm going to ask you to give everybody the information they need so that they can open up their wallets and help us out. But right now, we're going to talk to Tim Gross. He is a representative with the Southeast Produce Council. They are a long time supporter of the Palmer Home for Children. Tim, good to see you again. Good morning. Remember talking last year.

**Tim Gross** (1:53)
Yes, thank you for having me. It's an honor to be back.

**Gerard Gibert** (1:55)
Well, it's great to have you. So tell us how the Southeast Produce Council got involved with the Palmer Home and why this is important to your organization.

**Tim Gross** (2:04)
Well, yeah, it started back in 2018, coupled by the name of Tim and Stephanie Edmondson, brought the Palmer Home to the Southeast Produce Council and said, hey, they have a massive need down there. And we decided, hey, it's time to start sponsoring them. And we've been a sponsor ever since, to the tune of $25,000 per year.
It's a heck of a program that we are more than happy and honored to sponsor.

**Gerard Gibert** (2:30)
Yeah, well, it's totally awesome. And I'm sure that you talked to the folks here at Palmer Home, and you're aware of the great work they do. Is there anything in particular that they shared with you with respect to fulfillment of their mission that makes you guys so interested in helping these folks out?

**Tim Gross** (2:51)
It's just, I mean, guys, just look around.
And it's just an amazing place. The things that they do for all the children here, and in my own personal life and the belief that I have that, hey, giving back is so important, and to do it in the way that in the fashion that they're doing it here, is just, it's a godsend to be able to do what we're doing.

**Gerard Gibert** (3:13)
Yeah, no doubt about it. So, Rhino, I know coming up here on Baldwin Road, when you crest the hill and turn the corner, what you can see towering up over this building is the big blow up tree house and slide. And I get a smile on my face thinking about, this is what kids should be doing. And that's what this is all about, is it not, Dan?

**Tim Gross** (3:32)
Absolutely. Absolutely. And to hear some of the stories that, you know, of the children and where they're from and how they ended up here. And then where they go when they're, when they go through all the programs and all the education and all the religious trained teachings and everything else that happens here is just absolutely amazing.

**Gerard Gibert** (3:49)
And so you're aware, we want to make sure our audience is aware, though, we say it all the time that the Palmer home does not receive any public money, no taxpayer funds, no government monies are funneled to this organization. They rely 100% on private donations. That's why we're here.

**Tim Gross** (4:08)
Absolutely. Absolutely. And if I could make a call out, I got a bunch of friends out there listening and watching right now.

**Gerard Gibert** (4:14)
Absolutely.

**Tim Gross** (4:15)

I just made it. I had a friend that told me if I could make it the first five and a half minutes of the show without talking, he would give $100. So that's another $100 that's going on the board right there.
