The Carton Show with Craig Carton & Chris McMonigle

June 15, 2026

On WFAN's Carton Show, Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle hilariously discuss the upcoming Knicks championship parade, open containers, and how fans can "blend in" with the millions expected to flood the streets of Manhattan.
Speakers: Craig Carton, Chris McMonigle

Win, win, and the head's in the air, and the father's father's father's, something like that. Luda, Luda.
And that's The Carton Show with Big Mac. Parade on Thursday, Jim Doan and Studio Wednesday in the five o'clock hour. I put in a request for everybody and anybody to swing by this week. Obviously, they're now going to have, I think they did Good Morning America today, right?

**Chris McMonigle** (0:30)
Interesting.

**Craig Carton** (0:30)
Oh, Jurgleike was stoned out of his face.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:34)
You know what's funny about the clip? If you watch it, and I've watched it a few times, just I didn't see the whole interview. But the clip where they ask about Brown, and that's the one that's going around because OG just looks like he's in just staring open.

**Craig Carton** (0:44)
He's a different dude, to be fair.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:45)
He's a different dude, to be fair. But the funny thing is because it wasn't a question directed right at OG, at least from the clip you could tell.

**Craig Carton** (0:51)
Right.

**Chris McMonigle** (0:51)
Like it's just a question overall. But the rest of the team, and this is what makes me find it funny and special, because they know each other, and they've been through this together and they're friends, and it comes off that way, and they all know, you've been with that buddy, they're aware sitting there that OG is off.
They know. So when the question is asked, they all just look at him, like go ahead, answer OG because they know he's incapable.

**Craig Carton** (1:16)
It's wasted.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:18)
Brunson turns around and stares at OG like, please tell us because he knows OG is not there. Because he knows the kind of person he is. Like this group is special. And then like little subtle things like, I have to be honest like, maybe I'm making too much of it, but just the camaraderie of the group.
When Brunson, if you saw the post game on MSG with Monica McNutt, right? And she calls him over and they're about to talk and he's bumping her, having fun with her. And then he just takes the mic and he goes, I have a message to all the Swifties out there. Like he knows what's going on with her and that she had that comment about-

**Craig Carton** (1:51)
He said on the open mic, Tell her to get out of here, she's not a fan.

**Chris McMonigle** (1:54)
That's the kind of great dude he is. In the moment of winning a championship, he took a second to just like bust her shoes and have fun with her because like they're all in this together.

**Craig Carton** (2:03)
They also know each other. She's there all the time.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:05)
I'm not trying to say they have some sort of special bond that no other reporter player has.

**Craig Carton** (2:10)
When you do the radio, you travel with the team.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:12)
In that moment, he's like, bust like they're friends. You could just sense how good of a dude he is, this whole team is. And you mentioned we're going to ask for everybody. I don't know about you. And there's been a lot of commercials and pictures and great stuff out there.
Watching Patrick Ewing celebrate and feel like you got to sense this means something to him.

**Craig Carton** (2:34)
I agree with you.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:34)
That he won, that they won this championship. He feels like he's a part of it, that he's been a lifelong Nick. And to watch the Knicks, even though he's not out there on the court, and ultimately he never could accomplish this, to watch him celebrate, like just mouth agape hugging, I forget exactly which player it was, but like just the idea that he's involved in this. And it is, it takes you back.

**Craig Carton** (2:54)
And that was not a guarantee a few years ago.

**Chris McMonigle** (2:56)
No.

**Craig Carton** (2:57)
Remember when he came here as the Georgetown head coach, there was an issue with him being allowed to go to certain areas of the garden. And when he first left the Knicks, there was some, you know, strained relationships there. But both sides worked hard at it. And he's not just a welcome guest. He's your favorite son for a lot of people. So it's great having him there. Look all the guys, Gerald Wilkins who joined us last week and Marbury and, you know, Latrell and LJ and Starks and Bernard. The only guy that unfortunately, because his ego won't allow him to do it, that embarrassed himself, was Charles Oakley showing up at San Antonio, thinking that they were going to invite him to be a part of it.
