On July 22nd, the New York Rangers are making some big moves in their player development department, bringing back some familiar faces. Jonathan Quick, the winningest American-born goalie in NHL history, is reportedly joining the team as director of goaltending development. Derick Brassard is also coming back as a player development assistant. Both will be reporting to Tanner Glass, the director of player development. Quick, who just retired after playing his final three seasons with the Rangers, will be working closely with the team's current goalie coach, Jeff Malcolm. He spent 19 years in the league, and even though his time in New York was short, he was part of the team that won the president's trophy last season.
