All right, we're live. It's The Carton Show. Big Mac, you see the first Nick loss in like 100 days. No one said it's supposed to be easy. We're trying to win a championship for the first time in God knows how long, 53 years. That being said, that being said, you know, when you basically have a 40 point second half, you're not gonna win a lot of games. I don't care if you're playing in December or playing in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Knicks had no offensive rhythm tonight. You want to give San Antonio credit for that? I have no problem with that. I think the refs played a small role. It'll be a discussion point, obviously, more tomorrow, especially the Wembe foul, which should have been a flagrant foul on Jalen Brunson. You know, when you start looking at, you know, close games and you lose by four, those little things matter all of a sudden.
And the Knicks just ran out of their magic today.
Yeah, pretty much. That's it. And you give the Spurs credit. You know, look, they're in the NBA finals. None of us went into a thinking sweep. And then we got cocky and a little carried away because they didn't know how to lose. They won every game like this, but that was an embarrassingly bad second half offensive performance.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:08)
Yeah, it was terrible. I mean, one for nine from three in the, two for nine, two after the corner catch. Over nine to start and then they hit the last two from Brunson and OG in the corner. But yeah, I mean, they didn't make shots offensively stagnant. You're right. I didn't think there was any rhythm to the offense. They were bad. The killer is the early fouls in the fourth quarter. It sends them to the line.
They were in the bonus within what? Nine minutes left in the quarter still.
**Craig Carton** (1:35)
There's a lot of fouls in the first 90 seconds.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:38)
Ninety seconds. I mean, that's just the killer. You have Wembe's at the foul line the entire second half.
**Craig Carton** (1:44)
We couldn't make a three-point shot.
**Chris McMonigle** (1:46)
I mean, couldn't make a three-point shot.
**Craig Carton** (1:50)
Offensively, and it's been money for the last three weeks. So he had a bad night. And again, shot under 50%.
He didn't even score. Ogie had 28 I would have had the 30 now if he made that last shot right before the buzzer. But for the first time in a long time, the Knicks just ran out of the magic. And you can't play from behind every night against every really good team. And that's kind of what they've been living off. But I know tomorrow is going to be a panic central. All the indicators are going to be like, I see you can't win a home game. You know, the series is blah, blah, blah. We lost a single game.
You know, I remember come back and win on Wednesday night. It's a commanding 3-1 lead. So it sucks to lose. I forgot what it felt like to lose.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:40)
Yeah, I know. It's weird.
**Craig Carton** (2:41)
Here's a cause or reason. And I know people don't want to blame the refs.
**Chris McMonigle** (2:45)
I'm down on some degree, but they didn't play well enough, man. I'm sorry. They didn't play well enough. It's not I'm not going to blame the rest for this game. I'm not.
Listen. And even though Brunson had some clutch shots, he hasn't played well. Like I don't think this is another bad game for Brunson. I'm sorry. You didn't play that well.
He's got to be more productive. And then they would just kill her moments and that they've been able to avoid. I thought Shamet obviously not going to the other side of the rim to avoid a block from Wembe is a killer. I thought well, the two shots at the end, the Castle three.
**Craig Carton** (3:15)
That's a prayer.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:16)
That's the that's the that's the shot.
**Craig Carton** (3:18)
I get there too, which get Fox credit. And Fox was a damn good offensive player in Sacramento.
That's five points. That's the difference in the game. The first one was an absolute prayer that goes in after Wembe gave the ball very late in the shot clock. Yeah, it went in. That was, you know, O.G.'s count and Mikal's shots count in. And then Fox, you know, with that little runner, which, you know, is ultimately the difference in the game. Right? Yep.
**Chris McMonigle** (3:41)
No.
