Split a double header and take the series from Pittsburgh, two out of three. Sorry, we're doing it earlier the next morning, last night, out of nowhere. Actually, as they're talking about, Blackburn goes into the dugout, they show Boone talking to him and Cohn's like, well, that wasn't even a discussion. Blackburn's coming back out and then immediately, my Wi-Fi and cable go out as there was a big outage with Optimum. I think that's okay to say on there. But it was a big outage and I lost everything. I got no Wi-Fi, I had no cable. So I didn't even know Will Warren was pitching until I left my house to try and get some service because I have the same provider for my phone. I had nothing. So I missed the last two meetings. I had to watch them again this morning. So I was unable to do the pod last night, but we are back up and running. And look, this is going to have a little bit of a better tone than the Dodger one. I went back and listened to the podcast after the Dodger series. Look, I think I was a little too down after the Dodger series, but it's easy to be down with this team while the winning because the offense, and I was talking about this yesterday with Craig, when the offense is like this, like there's no fun way to lose. I say this a lot. There's no fun way to lose. I don't care what anybody says. I don't have a preference of losing 1-0 or losing 11-10. I don't find that game more entertaining because that means blowing leads. That means consistently giving up runs, and that's something this team, even in its struggles right now, is not doing. They have faced really good. Think of the last three series the Yankees have faced and the amount of runs they've given up. They played the Nationals who lead baseball and run score. They played the Dodgers, self-explanatory, and the Pirates, despite being the Pirates, and being, you know, a handful of games over 500, you have a nice little season. It's an offense that scored a lot of runs, and the Yankees have pitched their asses off and done a really good job. But the offense continues to just be a disaster. Even as today, we're going to be a little bit more positive than we were after the Dodger series because they won the series as opposed to losing two out of three. But, and they've played better now for a while. I think we, I mean, I know 500 out of the All-Star break, against the Dodgers and Pirates, still without reinforcements at the trade deadline, which we'll get into on the pod here, or Stanton and Judge coming back. We did see Max Fried last night, but overall, they've pitched very well, but they can't hit. So I'd like to be more positive because that's who I am. I'm a positive Yankee fan. I don't understand how that is as crazy to so many people as it is, but it is.
And listening to the podcast last week, I was down on them. And it's still, I mean, when the offense does nothing, when you play the Pittsburgh Pirates in a double header and you score a total of five runs, and it's basically on three swings, not enough. So it's easy to still be frustrated. But I am still frustrated in many questions about this team and the deadline, a lot of things need to happen, we'll get to. But let's start with some positivity. They did take two of three. They did split the double header. You got the win last night. And more importantly, for the first time, for the first time, and they've both been Yankees for a year and a half now, a year, more than a year and a half as they played, what was last night's game, the 102nd game of the season. So, they have 60 left. We have yet to see Gerrit Cole and Max Fried in the same rotation at the same time, healthy and pitching. And yesterday, we saw both on the mound on the same day. And both were really good. And Fried last night, I mean, they made the decision because of the doubleheader, to forego his apparent, which now the way he pitched yesterday would have been an apparent final rehab start. And they decided to do it at the Major League level. You knew he was going to be capped at like 60 pitches. So it was going to be important for him to stay economical.
