On WhatsApp, no one can see or hear your personal messages, whether it's a voice call, message, or sending a password. To WhatsApp, it's all just this. So whether you're sharing the streaming password in the family chat, or trading those late night voice messages that could basically become a podcast, your personal messages stay between you, your friends, and your family. No one else, not even us. WhatsApp, message privately with everyone.

Let me reiterate that I think there is a complete divorce between where markets are and where the world is right now. We do not live in normal times in terms of politics, and markets still keep trying to pretend we live in normal times for markets. But the underlying logic that I see still says, yeah, there's huge volatility ahead. And, you know, further big shocks to come.

Welcome to Thoughtful Money. I'm its founder and your host, Adam Taggart. Today's guest predicted years in advance, the shift away from globalization towards nationalism by the world's major countries. Well, now that the previous unipolar globe is in the process of fracturing in the multiple power and trading blocks, what does he see next? Well, to find out, let's ask the man himself. We're very fortunate to sit down again today with Michael Every, Global Strategist at Rabobank. Michael, thanks so much for joining us, all the way from Thailand.

**Michael Every** (2:03)
Very good to be here again.

**Adam Taggart** (2:05)
All right. I appreciate you saying that. I know this is actually a tough one for you because A, it's early in your morning, but B, really, you woke up right before you were going to come on this show and looked at your ex-account and saw the nuclear war that has been kicked off between Elon Musk and America's President Donald Trump. I know that you have to get going to make sense of that for yourself and for all your followers in the world. I'm not going to get into that too much with you here today, just because this thing is unfolding in real time. By the time this video launches, I'm sure wherever it is right now will be old news. But I just want to acknowledge that you've had a big distraction thrown in your lap right before coming on camera here. And I appreciate you making the time given all that to still talk to this audience.

**Michael Every** (2:52)
You're very kind. Thank you. And yeah, I'm sure it will be peppered through what we're going to discuss. But it's a little bit of a bit of a broad side to get. I mean, there's lots of other news overnight, too. But it's been a bit of a surprise.

**Adam Taggart** (3:07)
And there's even breaking news as we're talking here. Literally, it looks like Russia might be actually beginning its retaliation wave for the drone strike on Russia's bombers. I mean, it's just my first question for you here, which I wrote down, Michael, was where to even start? I mean, there's so much going on. But at a very high level, we can start wherever you want. But you and I have done interviews now for a number of years. The world is accelerating along the trajectory that you've been predicting. And when we first started talking, I think for a lot of people, mercantilism, this sounds like a kind of very highly academic type of thing. Now mercantilism, nationalism, protectionism, et cetera, has very quickly become the rule of the land and increasing number of countries around the world.
So let me just ask you this to kick things off. From your globalism to mercantilism standpoint, how would you describe the state of the world today?

**Michael Every** (4:09)
Wow. Okay. Great question to start. Influx, I think, would be the best description. There's a much more eloquent version of that, which I'll probably stumble over now, which is embarrassing from grants.

**Adam Taggart** (4:27)
I've got two other questions, and so let me just ask them, and then you can craft whatever answer you like. The first one is, in your opinion right now, which trends of everything going on are the most important ones to keep our eyes on? Then secondly, because you're the man who predicted all of this, is there anything going on right now that's truly surprising to you? So feel free to weave any and all of those in your answer.
