Only a few things live in the world of sports, late on this Sunday evening, including Sunday night baseball in downtown Los Angeles, for the Dodgers, who have had a great weekend, despite being on the verge of being swept by the Boston Red Sox, because of the acquisition of Tarek Schubel, trail by four, entering the home half of the eighth inning. Boston leads eight-four. Not a great eighth inning for a former Red Sox in Wyatt Mills, making just his sixth appearance for the Dodgers in 2026 In fact, it was not a great frame for the battery, that being Wyatt Mills and the catcher Eliezer Alfonso for LA. The Red Sox adding on some insurance, first on a wild pitch from Wyatt Mills and then on a pass ball for Alfonso. So it's an eight-four lead now for Boston, the four-run advantage as we head to the bottom of the eighth inning. Just updating those live numbers, it's now minus 7,400 for Boston on that live money line. We have already gone well through the pregame total of eight. The live over understands at 12 and a half. The over has the juice at minus 171 on DraftKings. Basically, are you willing to weigh $1.70 that we are going to see one more run in this game? I do think we are going to get to 13
Not entirely sure who scores it. I think the Dodgers might add one here in the bottom of the eighth. Monday in Major League Baseball, a really big day. Trade deadline day, 6 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow in Major League Baseball. We have already seen a slew of blockbuster deals. We'll hear from Tarek Schubel, who was in attendance tonight at Dodger Stadium, now a member of this Dodgers organization in just a matter of moments. But recapping a couple of other notable trades around the sport in the past 24 hours or so. Freddie Peralta, now on his way to Tampa, will join a raised starting staff that features multiple All Stars this year. And Drew Rasmussen and the veteran Nick Martinez for the first time in his career, with a healthy Shane McClanahan. And Peralta, who had a very tough year, his first in Queens with the Mets, is hoping a change of scenery now to St. Pete does him some good. Burt Murray, National Insider from Four Major League Baseball, Four fansided, who joined us back in our third hour of this show at 9 p.m. Eastern, basically saying that is the consensus around the Bigs. If Freddie Peralta maybe mismanaged ever so slightly by the Mets, or just wasn't a good marriage and partnership, people are optimistic that he can have some more success in 2026 for the best team in the American League. The Rays who are not dependent favorites, that's the New York Yankees. Tampa, the best record, the best price to play in the World Series and represent the AL, is the New York Yankees, who also make an addition here ahead of the deadline. They have Luis Garcia Jr. from the Washington Nationals, a guy that has been great with some offensive pop this year for the Nats, now will play for the Pinsripes. The Yankees, in the absence of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, in desperate need of offensive firepower. They get Garcia Jr. who had the highest slugging percentage in the National League so far this season for a really explosive offense there in the nation's capital. He's kind of been more of a first base DH kind of guy for Nats this year, kind of where the Yankees are stacked with Ben Rice and the veteran in Paul Goldschmidt, but they add a much needed bat offensively. I am sure Aaron Boone will figure out the moving chess pieces to make that work in the Bronx to have some more offensive pop for this Yankees side. They trail the Rays by two and a half games, both in the American League East and in the AL for that best record on that side of the league. Burt Murray, who again was here, National MLB Insider Four fansided, breaking news for all of you on Live Bet Sunday, Kevin Gossman, the veteran, on his way from Toronto to Chicago. He will join the Cubbies. The Cubs making some moves to add to their starting staff that has been decimated by injury this year, Justin Steele and Cade Horton, most notably. Yesterday, the Southsiders and the White Sox added the veteran out of Seattle and Luis Castillo. He has not been great this year for the Ms, but the White Sox, who have a three-game cushion, atop the American League Central and beat the race today at the Trop 9-1. Because of that explosive offense, the White Sox have this year making some moves, maybe to see October, to win a division for the first time since 2021, and of course, appear in the postseason for the first time in five years. Bert telling all of us that there are some veteran names, especially starting pitchers, that can make an impact for those teams that might have missed out or not been engaged in the Tarrick Schuylville sweepstakes. The New York Mets, Clay Holmes, dealing with injuries, but starting to work his way back with rehab assignments in the minor leagues, very likely on the move in the next 19, 20 hours or so. Robbie Ray, the veteran for the San Francisco Giants, certainly in that category. And a couple of names from Anaheim, Reid Detmers and Jose Soriano could be on the trading block from the Halos as well. Of course, it will be a busy, busy night in baseball and a busy Monday morning into the early afternoon, 6 p.m. Eastern tomorrow, trade deadline in Major League Baseball. But the blockbuster deal that everybody had discussed for the better part of the last month and a half in the Bigs, would the Tigers ship Tarrick Schuylville? And if Detroit decided to deal Tarrick Schuylville, where would be his next destination? We found out last night, the Dodgers and the Tigers agreeing to a deal. Tarrick Schuylville, now the newest Dodger, in return to the Motor City, River Ryan, Brady Smith, and the outfield prospect in Zaire Hope. Here was Tarrick Schuylville after last night's victory for the Tigers in Sacramento on how he feels heading now to Los Angeles to join the Dodgers.
