This is Live Bet Sunday on VSiN, the Sports Betting Network.
It is our number two of Live Bet Sunday on Sunday, August 16th, right here on VSiN, the Sports Betting Network. August is a month of football. Our first full week of NFL preseason action now in the books. What did we learn? What will it teach us for the 2026 regular season and beyond? And we'll take a big picture, broad view look at the National Football League entering a new year. As we get started here in our second hour with Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis right here on the Progressive Guest Line. Rich, we appreciate the time on this Live Bet Sunday. We were just talking in the break. It feels like Christmas is upcoming. Two more weeks of the preseason and we're about 25 days or so away from the start of a regular season in the NFL. It is a celebratory time indeed.

**Rich Hribar** (1:58)
Yeah, absolutely. We're all excited when the NFL comes around. It's a little bittersweet because it means the end of summer, but as we roll into the fall, we get kind of the sport that we all kind of love. And now it's going to be taking up over almost our whole week now because we have a bunch of Wednesday games, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. NFL has taken fully over now.

**Ben Stevens** (2:17)
The Wednesday Super Bowl 60 rematch in Seattle between the Seahawks and the Patriots, a Thursday Australian opener in Melbourne between the Rams and the 49ers. We'll talk some week one, but let's talk big picture. Rich, we were just talking in the break. I reside in Los Angeles. It is a year in 2026 that should be a fun one for football in LA. Most notably those Rams. They are the Super Bowl favorites. They have what on paper feels like the most loaded and talented roster after the blockbuster deal for Miles Garrett, the acquisition of Trent McDuffie, the LPL pro corner as well. When you look at the Super Bowl odds, and you see the Rams at a plus 550 price as we speak, nearly half the price of everybody else around the National Football League. Are the Rams that far in front of the 31 other NFL clubs?

**Rich Hribar** (3:07)
It's easy to see on paper because, you know, as the NFL has gone to, you know, parity has taken over and, you know, things have gotten kind of leveled out that this is a team just on paper, objectively is the one that stands out based on how they played last year as well. I mean, this is a team that still has some pulling factors. They are a little older. They have one of the worst travel schedules too of the NFL. So there are some ways to kind of see, you know, the just natural kind of regression kind of pull away at them a little bit. Maybe that some things that just don't pop on paper necessarily would, you would say like, all right, just based on talent. But, you know, when you look at them, what they did last year, I mean, they ran pretty pure too on offense. I mean, this was a team that reached the red zone and the highest rate of drive since the 2007 New England Patriots.
You know, in terms of goal to goal scoring, they were one of the best teams of the 2000s. So there's just like kind of natural ways to say like, hey, maybe they did run a little bit pure. You know, Matthew Stafford had the highest touchdown rate of his career. Like maybe they just, they're still good, but they just don't necessarily have the same offensive efficiency that they had last year. But on paper, it's really hard to kind of push back against them being the favorites.
