We are here watching baseball here on a Saturday night. What better time would be than the first day of August than to watch a little Major League Baseball. But of course, football is just lurking in the background. Coming up a little later, we are going to talk a lot of football. But let's look at, we got some breaking news though, into the VSiN studios.
Just about five minutes ago, I kind of refreshed the, when we went to commercial after that last break, I refreshed the prediction markets.
Players to be traded, which yes or no will play every traded. Luis Castillo at that time was 41%.
And then about two minutes later, Jeff Passant says, Luis Castillo has now been traded to the Chicago White Sox. So there you go. There's a ticket somebody's going to cash. That's a pretty decent money. So there you go.
Luis Castillo, now a member of the Chicago White Sox. So the White Sox two years ago, one of the worst teams in the history of Major League Baseball. Now they're making trades at the trade deadline to make a run in the playoffs.
My how things have changed on the south side of Chicago. So there you go. By the way, we did see another trade that Jeff Passant had reported. Braves get Lane Thomas and Bailey Falter, a left-hander bullpen guy from the Royals or, I don't know, Bucket of Balls or something. So there you go. Braves are hustling. The White Sox are definitely hustling. And yeah, Luis Castillo, when he was with the Reds about four or five years ago, you thought he was going to really do something when he went to Seattle, going from Great America Small Park to a pitcher's park like Seattle. And it just never happened. I think when you get into your 30s like he is and piled up the innings that he has, you just don't have it anymore if you're Luis Castillo. But the White Sox, hoping to get a little something out of him because, hey, if you can't get played, can't do well in a pitcher's park like Seattle, it's tough to think of him doing anything at a pitcher's park and a regular ballpark like Comiskey. But let's look at the scoreboard right now. Still in a rain delay in Cincinnati, 4-1 Pirates and Reds in this one.
The Orioles, bottom of the ninth, last chance for them. But they are down five to nothing here in this one. Yeah, it looks like curtains for them and the bottom of the ninth. Astros and Rangers, top of the ninth. Hater is in for the Astros, five to four, minus 9.3 are the Astros, total nine and a half. So not much expected there. And it looks like here with the Cubs and the Yankees, we're down to that final out. Thanks for that insurance run, Cubs. Boy, you ruined everything. I was about, knock on wood, I was about to have a perfect night here on the Best Bets here on VSiN, and you beat me by half a run. So much for that six and a half total at Wrigley. Five to two Cubs in the top of the night with two down, and the fans are their feet like they were in 1984 for Lee Smith striking them out for the Cubs back then. Don't get me started on that three game set in San Diego at the end of that NLCS. I'm still living with that one. Dodgers and Red Sox, bottom of the fourth. It is two to two now. Yamamoto, not getting too many Ks for us there, Justin, but we live to fight another day. Dodgers, minus 243 on the money line, plus 21 Red Sox, total eight and a half here, and it is now over in Chicago. 5-2 your final, man, so close, yet so far away. And that's why you don't do four-leg parlays, ladies and gentlemen. You put four best bets out there, you go three and one. Yeah, if you run, if you parlay those, you just lost money. Am I one of those people who is against parlays? Yeah, I am. I'm just, my mom is a math teacher. I know how, you know how hard it is to go one and O, much less four and O?
Just saying. So yeah, comes officially five, two winners over the Yankees. And yeah, Max Fried pitched well tonight, but the bullpen kind of blew it for him at the end. So Yankees go down again. Rays looking pretty good in this division. We'll see how that goes as we keep going. Speaking of which, Tigers still up on the athletics, two to nothing now top of the second. And we played the run line in that one. Let's just, let's end that one. That's the thing, when you're an under player, you just want games to end immediately. And I do that quite a bit. Most of the time, for me, it's under or nothing. I'm one of those guys. But in baseball, sometimes you got to take some favorites on the money line, at least. Speaking of that, Angels up one to nothing on the Brewers. Brewers still favorite though, live betting line, minus 125, total nine and a half. So that is your update of what's going on in Major League Baseball. All the games have started now.
